故我必將爾地賜東方之人為業、彼於爾地、設其羊圈、立其帳幕、食爾果、飲爾乳、

therefore I am going to give you to the people of the East as a possession. They will set up their camps and pitch their tents among you; they will eat your fruit and drink your milk.

那时，所有的米甸人、亚玛力人和东边的人都聚集在一起，过了河，在耶斯列平原安营。

你地所产的和你劳力所得的，必被你所不认识的百姓吃尽。你天天只被欺负，受压制，

他们必吃你牲畜所生的和你土地所产的，直到你被除灭。你的五谷、新酒和新的油，以及牛犊、羔羊，他都不给你留下，直到使你灭亡。

你们的土地荒芜，城镇被火烧毁；你们的田地在你们眼前被陌生人侵吞，既被陌生人倾覆，就成为荒芜。

所罗门的智慧超过所有东方人的智慧，和埃及人一切的智慧。

约押攻打亚扪人的拉巴，攻占了京城。

君子却图谋高尚的事，他必因高尚的事站立得稳。安逸的妇女啊，起来听我的声音！无虑的女子啊，侧耳听我的言语！

并非造了给别人居住，也非栽种给别人享用；因为我百姓的日子必长久如树木，我的选民必享受亲手劳碌得来的。

每当以色列人撒种之后，米甸、亚玛力和东边的人都上来攻打他们，对着他们安营，毁坏那地的农作物，直到迦萨，没有给以色列留下食物，牛、羊、驴也没有留下。因为那些人带着他们的牲畜和帐棚上来，像蝗虫那样多；人和骆驼无数，都进入境内，毁坏全地。以色列因米甸的缘故极其穷乏，以色列人就呼求耶和华。

米甸人、亚玛力人和所有东边的人都散布在平原，如同蝗虫那样多。他们的骆驼无数，多如海边的沙。

那时西巴和撒慕拿，以及跟随他们的军队都在加各，约有一万五千人，是东边的人全军所剩下的，因为拿刀战死的约有十二万人。

雅各起行，到了东方人之地。

谁从东方兴起一人，凭公义召他来到脚前？谁将列国交给他，使他管辖列王，把他们如灰尘交与他的刀，如风吹的碎秸交与他的弓？

我就要这样对待你们：我必使惊惶临到你们，使你们患痨病，害热病，以致眼睛失明，身体衰弱。你们要白白撒种，因为仇敌要吃尽你们所种的。

巴兰唱起诗歌说：“巴勒领我出亚兰，摩押王领我出东方的山脉：‘来啊，为我诅咒雅各；来啊，怒骂以色列。’
