看哪，迦勒底人之地；這人民已不成為人民了；亞述人使她成為住曠野者之地；他們立起攻城的設備來，將城的宮堡毁為平地，使城變為廢瓦頹牆。

第三道河名叫希底結，就是流在亞述東邊的。第四道河就是伯拉河。

他作王的第九年、十月十日、巴比倫王尼布甲尼撒來了，他和他的全軍來攻耶路撒冷，紮營攻城，四圍築壘來攻打。於是那城被圍困、直到西底家王十一年。四月九日、城裏大鬧饑荒，甚至當地的人民都沒有糧食。

『人子啊，你要為自己立兩條路，好使巴比倫王的刀劍前來；這兩條路都要從一個地分出。你要在路頭、通城的路頭、立一根手指路的牌。你要立一條路，使刀劍來攻擊亞捫人的拉巴，攻擊猶大和猶大中的耶路撒冷。
