今亞何利巴、宜聽主耶和華之言、爾之所懽、為爾厭憎者、我必使之四方攻爾、

故主天主如是云、阿荷利巴歟、爾先所愛後所惡之人、我必激之來攻爾、使來自四周攻爾、

“ Therefore, Oholibah, this is what the Sovereign Lord says: I will stir up your lovers against you, those you turned away from in disgust, and I will bring them against you from every side—

So the Lord and King says,“ Oholibah, I will stir up your lovers against you. You became sick of them. You turned away from them. But I will bring them against you from every side.

“ Therefore, Oholibah, this is what the Sovereign Lord says: I will send your lovers against you from every direction— those very nations from which you turned away in disgust.

“ Therefore, Oholibah, this is what the Lord GOD says: I am going to incite your lovers against you, those you turned away from in disgust. I will bring them against you from every side:

“ Therefore, Oholibah, this is what the Lord God says:‘ Behold I am going to incite your lovers against you, from whom you turned away in disgust, and I will bring them against you from every side:

“ Therefore, Oholibah, thus says the Lord GOD:‘ Behold, I will stir up your lovers against you, From whom you have alienated yourself, And I will bring them against you from every side:

Therefore, O Oholibah, thus saith the Lord Jehovah: Behold, I will raise up thy lovers against thee, from whom thy soul is alienated, and I will bring them against thee on every side:

“ Therefore, Oholibah, this is what the sovereign LORD says: Look here, I am about to stir up against you the lovers with whom you were disgusted; I will bring them against you from every side:

therefore see, I will gather all your lovers, with whom you have taken pleasure, and all those who you have loved, with all those who you have hated. I will even gather them against you on every side, and will uncover your nakedness to them, that they may see all your nakedness.

Alas Assyrian, the rod of my anger, the staff in whose hand is my indignation!I will send him against a profane nation, and against the people who anger me I will give him a command to take the plunder and to take the prey, and to tread them down like the mire of the streets.

For, behold, I raise up the Chaldeans, that bitter and hasty nation, that march through the width of the earth, to possess dwelling places that are not theirs.They are feared and dreaded. Their judgment and their dignity proceed from themselves.Their horses also are swifter than leopards, and are more fierce than the evening wolves. Their horsemen press proudly on. Yes, their horsemen come from afar. They fly as an eagle that hurries to devour.All of them come for violence. Their hordes face the desert. He gathers prisoners like sand.Yes, he scoffs at kings, and princes are a derision to him. He laughs at every stronghold, for he builds up an earthen ramp, and takes it.

“ For the Lord Yahweh says:‘ Behold, I will deliver you into the hand of them whom you hate, into the hand of them from whom your soul is alienated.

Then Isaiah the prophet came to king Hezekiah, and asked him,“ What did these men say? From where did they come to you?” Hezekiah said,“ They have come from a country far from me, even from Babylon.”Then he asked,“ What have they seen in your house?” Hezekiah answered,“ They have seen all that is in my house. There is nothing among my treasures that I have not shown them.”

Yahweh says,“ Behold, a people comes from the north country. A great nation will be stirred up from the uttermost parts of the earth.They take hold of bow and spear. They are cruel, and have no mercy. Their voice roars like the sea, and they ride on horses, everyone set in array, as a man to the battle, against you, daughter of Zion.”

“ Therefore I delivered her into the hand of her lovers, into the hand of the Assyrians, on whom she doted.

The ten horns which you saw, and the beast, these will hate the prostitute, will make her desolate, will strip her naked, will eat her flesh, and will burn her utterly with fire.

Is my heritage to me as a speckled bird of prey? Are the birds of prey against her all around? Go, assemble all the animals of the field. Bring them to devour.Many shepherds have destroyed my vineyard. They have trodden my portion under foot. They have made my pleasant portion a desolate wilderness.They have made it a desolation. It mourns to me, being desolate. The whole land is made desolate, because no one cares.Destroyers have come on all the bare heights in the wilderness; for the sword of Yahweh devours from the one end of the land even to the other end of the land. No flesh has peace.
