“ Son of man, tell the leaders of Israel,‘ This is what the Sovereign Lord says: How dare you come to ask me for a message? As surely as I live, says the Sovereign Lord, I will tell you nothing!’

“人子啊，你要告诉以色列的长老说，主耶和华如此说：你们来是求问我吗？主耶和华说：我指着我的永生起誓，我必不被你们求问。

“人子啊，你要告诉以色列的长老，对他们说，主耶和华如此说：你们来是为求问我吗？主耶和华说：我指着我的永生起誓，我必不让你们求问。

“人子啊，你要告诉以色列的长老，对他们说，主耶和华如此说：你们来是为求问我吗？主耶和华说：我指着我的永生起誓，我必不让你们求问。

“人子啊，你要告诉他们，主耶和华这样说，‘你们是来求问我吗？我凭我的永恒起誓，我决不让你们求问。’

“人子啊！你要告诉以色列的长老，对他们说：‘主耶和华这样说：你们来求问我吗？我指着我的永生起誓，我必不让你们求问我。这是主耶和华的宣告。’

「人子啊，你要告訴以色列的長老說，主耶和華如此說：你們來是求問我嗎？主耶和華說：我指着我的永生起誓，我必不被你們求問。

「人子啊，你要告訴以色列的長老，對他們說，主耶和華如此說：你們來是為求問我嗎？主耶和華說：我指着我的永生起誓，我必不讓你們求問。

「人子啊，你要告訴以色列的長老，對他們說，主耶和華如此說：你們來是為求問我嗎？主耶和華說：我指着我的永生起誓，我必不讓你們求問。

「人子啊，你要告訴他們，主耶和華這樣說，『你們是來求問我嗎？我憑我的永恆起誓，我決不讓你們求問。』

“人子啊！你要告訴以色列的長老，對他們說：‘主耶和華這樣說：你們來求問我嗎？我指著我的永生起誓，我必不讓你們求問我。這是主耶和華的宣告。’

『人子啊，你要告訴以色列的長老，說：主永恆主這麼說：你們來是求問我麼？主永恆主發神諭說：我指着永活的我來起誓，我是不讓你們求問的。

人子歟、謂以色列長老云、主耶和華曰、爾來諮諏於我乎、主耶和華曰、我指己生而誓、不聽爾之諮諏、

人子、當告以色列族長老、云、主耶和華曰、爾來諮諏於我、我指己而誓、不許爾與我言。

人子、當言與以色列長老、告之曰、主天主如是云、爾來求問於我乎、主天主曰、我指己永生而誓、我必不應爾、

“ Son of man, speak to the elders of Israel and say to them,‘ This is what the Sovereign Lord says: Have you come to inquire of me? As surely as I live, I will not let you inquire of me, declares the Sovereign Lord.’

“ Son of man, speak to the elders of Israel. Tell them,‘ The Lord and King says,“ Have you come to ask me for advice? I will not let you do that,” announces the Lord and King.“ And that is just as sure as I am alive.” ’

“ Son of man, speak to the elders of Israel, and say to them, Thus says the Lord God, Is it to inquire of me that you come? As I live, declares the Lord God, I will not be inquired of by you.

“ Son of man, speak with the elders of Israel and tell them,‘ This is what the Lord GOD says: Are you coming to inquire of me? As I live, I will not let you inquire of me. This is the declaration of the Lord GOD.’

“ Son of man, speak to the elders of Israel and say to them,‘ This is what the Lord God says:“ Do you yourselves come to inquire of Me? As I live,” declares the Lord God,“ I certainly will not be inquired of by you.” ’

“ Son of man, speak to the elders of Israel, and say to them,‘ Thus says the Lord God:“ Have you come to inquire of Me? As I live,” says the Lord God,“ I will not be inquired of by you.”’

Son of man, speak unto the elders of Israel, and say unto them, Thus saith the Lord Jehovah: Is it to inquire of me that ye are come? As I live, saith the Lord Jehovah, I will not be inquired of by you.

“ Son of man, speak with the elders of Israel and tell them: This is what the Lord God says: Are you coming to consult Me? As I live, I will not be consulted by you.” This is the declaration of the Lord God.

Son of man, speak unto the elders of Israel, and say unto them, Thus saith the Lord GOD; Are ye come to enquire of me?[ As] I live, saith the Lord GOD, I will not be enquired of by you.

“ Son of man, speak to the elders of Israel, and tell them:‘ This is what the sovereign LORD says: Are you coming to seek me? As surely as I live, I will not allow you to seek me, declares the sovereign LORD.’

“ Son of man, speak to the elders of Israel, and tell them,‘ The Lord Yahweh says:“ Is it to inquire of me that you have come? As I live,” says the Lord Yahweh,“ I will not be inquired of by you.”’

God detests the prayers of a person who ignores the law.

Then you seers will be put to shame, and you fortune tellers will be disgraced. And you will cover your faces because there is no answer from God.”

‘ These people honor me with their lips, but their hearts are far from me.Their worship is a farce, for they teach man made ideas as commands from God.’”

Then call on me when you are in trouble, and I will rescue you, and you will give me glory.”But God says to the wicked:“ Why bother reciting my decrees and pretending to obey my covenant?For you refuse my discipline and treat my words like trash.When you see thieves, you approve of them, and you spend your time with adulterers.Your mouth is filled with wickedness, and your tongue is full of lies.You sit around and slander your brother— your own mother’s son.While you did all this, I remained silent, and you thought I didn’t care. But now I will rebuke you, listing all my charges against you.

But when he saw many Pharisees and Sadducees coming to watch him baptize, he denounced them.“ You brood of snakes!” he exclaimed.“ Who warned you to flee the coming wrath?

The Lord detests the sacrifice of the wicked, but he delights in the prayers of the upright.

For God is Spirit, so those who worship him must worship in spirit and in truth.”

He asked the Lord what he should do, but the Lord refused to answer him, either by dreams or by sacred lots or by the prophets.

When you come to worship me, who asked you to parade through my courts with all your ceremony?

“ Son of man, these leaders have set up idols in their hearts. They have embraced things that will make them fall into sin. Why should I listen to their requests?Tell them,‘ This is what the Sovereign Lord says: The people of Israel have set up idols in their hearts and fallen into sin, and then they go to a prophet asking for a message. So I, the Lord, will give them the kind of answer their great idolatry deserves.

When the crowds came to John for baptism, he said,“ You brood of snakes! Who warned you to flee the coming wrath?

When you lift up your hands in prayer, I will not look. Though you offer many prayers, I will not listen, for your hands are covered with the blood of innocent victims.

For when you offer gifts to them and give your little children to be burned as sacrifices, you continue to pollute yourselves with idols to this day. Should I allow you to ask for a message from me, O people of Israel? As surely as I live, says the Sovereign Lord, I will tell you nothing.

The sacrifice of an evil person is detestable, especially when it is offered with wrong motives.

I, the Lord, will answer all those, both Israelites and foreigners, who reject me and set up idols in their hearts and so fall into sin, and who then come to a prophet asking for my advice.I will turn against such people and make a terrible example of them, eliminating them from among my people. Then you will know that I am the Lord.
