「『我在曠野曾對他們的子孫說，不要效法你們祖先的律例，不要遵守他們的規條，不要拜他們的偶像，以致玷污自己。

我在曠野、諭其子孫曰、勿從爾祖父之習俗、勿守其陋規、勿因其偶像、自染污穢、

I said to their children in the wilderness,“ Do not follow the statutes of your parents or keep their laws or defile yourselves with their idols.

I spoke to their children there. I said,‘ Do not follow the rules your parents gave you. Do not obey their laws. Do not make yourselves“ unclean” by worshiping their gods.

“ And I said to their children in the wilderness,‘ Do not walk in the statutes of your fathers, nor keep their rules, nor defile yourselves with their idols.

“ Then I warned their children not to follow in their parents’ footsteps, defiling themselves with their idols.

“‘ Then I said to their children in the wilderness,“ Don’t follow the statutes of your fathers, defile yourselves with their idols, or keep their ordinances.

“ Instead, I said to their children in the wilderness,‘ Do not walk in the statutes of your fathers or keep their ordinances or defile yourselves with their idols.

“ But I said to their children in the wilderness,‘ Do not walk in the statutes of your fathers, nor observe their judgments, nor defile yourselves with their idols.

And I said unto their children in the wilderness, Walk ye not in the statutes of your fathers, neither observe their ordinances, nor defile yourselves with their idols.

“ Then I said to their children in the wilderness: Don’t follow the statutes of your fathers, defile yourselves with their idols, or keep their ordinances.

But I said unto their children in the wilderness, Walk ye not in the statutes of your fathers, neither observe their judgments, nor defile yourselves with their idols:

“‘ But I said to their children in the wilderness,“ Do not follow the practices of your fathers; do not observe their regulations, nor defile yourselves with their idols.

I said to their children in the wilderness,‘ Don’t walk in the statutes of your fathers. Don’t observe their ordinances or defile yourselves with their idols.

我對他們說，你們各人要拋棄眼中所喜愛的可憎之物，不可用埃及的偶像玷污自己。我是耶和華－你們的神。

你們已親眼看見耶和華因巴力‧毗珥所做的。凡隨從巴力‧毗珥的人，耶和華－你的神都從你中間除滅了。只有你們這緊緊跟隨耶和華－你們神的人，今日全都存活。看，我照着耶和華－我的神所吩咐我的，將律例和典章教導你們，使你們在所要進去得為業的地上遵行。你們要謹守遵行；這就是你們在萬民眼前的智慧和聰明。他們聽見這一切律例，必說：『這大國的人真是有智慧，有聰明！』

你們知道，你們得以從你們祖先傳下來虛妄的行為中救贖出來，不是靠着會朽壞的金銀等物，

「耶和華曾向你們祖先大發烈怒。你要對以色列人說，萬軍之耶和華如此說：你們要轉向我，這是萬軍之耶和華說的，我就轉向你們，這是萬軍之耶和華說的。不要效法你們的祖先。從前的先知呼叫他們說：『萬軍之耶和華如此說，當回轉離開你們的惡道惡行。』他們卻不聽，也不順從我。這是耶和華說的。

我領你們進入肥沃之地，使你們得吃其中的果子和美物；你們進入時，卻使我的地玷污，使我的產業成為可憎的。

使將要生的後代子孫可以曉得。他們也要起來告訴他們的子孫，好讓他們仰望神，不忘記神的作為，惟遵守他的命令；不要像他們的祖宗，是頑梗悖逆、心不堅定，向神心不忠實之輩。

至於你們，你們的屍體必倒在這曠野中；你們的兒女必在曠野遊牧四十年，擔當你們不信的罪，直到你們的屍體在曠野消滅為止。

「你們這硬着頸項，心與耳未受割禮的人哪，時常抗拒聖靈！你們的祖宗怎樣，你們也怎樣。

因以色列輕忽了她的淫亂，與石頭和木頭行姦淫，她和這地就都污穢了。

你們有禍了！因為你們建造先知的墳墓，那些先知正是你們的祖宗所殺的。可見你們祖宗所做的事，你們是證人，你們也贊同，因為他們殺了先知，你們建造先知的墳墓。

耶和華的怒氣向以色列發作，使他們在曠野飄流四十年，直到在耶和華眼前作惡的那一代都消滅了。看哪，你們這一夥罪人，竟然接續你們父執之輩，再增加耶和華對以色列所發的怒氣。你們若轉離不跟從他，他要再把以色列人撇在曠野；這樣，你們就使這眾百姓滅亡了。」
