“ So now the Sovereign Lord asks: Will this vine grow and prosper? No! I will pull it up, roots and all! I will cut off its fruit and let its leaves wither and die. I will pull it up easily without a strong arm or a large army.

“ You are to say,‘ This is what the Lord GOD says: Will it flourish? Will he not tear out its roots and strip off its fruit so that it shrivels? All its fresh leaves will wither! Great strength and many people will not be needed to pull it from its roots.

Say,‘ This is what the Lord God says:“ Will it thrive? Will he not pull up its roots and cut off its fruit, so that it withers— so that all its sprouting shoots wither? And neither by great strength nor by many people can it be raised from its roots again.

“ Say,‘ Thus says the Lord GOD:“ Will it thrive? Will he not pull up its roots, Cut off its fruit, And leave it to wither? All of its spring leaves will wither, And no great power or many people Will be needed to pluck it up by its roots.

耶和华说：“祸哉！这悖逆的儿女。他们同谋，却不出于我，结盟，却不出于我的灵，以致罪上加罪。他们没有寻求我的指示，就起身下埃及去，要倚靠法老的庇护坚固自己，并投在埃及的荫下。但法老的庇护反成为你们的羞辱；你们投在埃及荫下，反使你们惭愧。他们的领袖已在琐安，他们的使臣到了哈内斯。他们必因那无益于他们的民蒙羞；那民并非帮助，也非有益，只带来羞耻和凌辱。”论尼革夫牲畜的默示。他们将财物驮在驴背上，将宝物驮在骆驼的背脊，经过艰难困苦之地，就是母狮、公狮、毒蛇、飞蛇之地，往那无益于他们的民那里去。埃及的帮助是徒然的，因此，我称它为“毫不中用的拉哈伯”。

看哪，葡萄树虽然栽种了，岂能发旺呢？一经东风击打，岂不全然枯干了吗？它必在生长的苗圃中枯干了。”

他却背叛巴比伦王，差派使者前往埃及，要求埃及人给他马匹和许多人。他岂能亨通呢？这样做的人岂能逃脱呢？他背了约岂能逃脱呢？主耶和华说：我指着我的永生起誓，他定要死在巴比伦，就是巴比伦王所在之处；因为巴比伦王立他为王，他竟轻看向王所起的誓，背弃王与他所立的约。当敌人建土堆，筑堡垒，要歼灭许多人时，法老虽有强大军队和大批人马，在战场上还是不能帮助他。

‘耶和华—以色列的神如此说：看哪，我要使你们手中的兵器，就是你们与城外围困你们的巴比伦王和迦勒底人打仗所用的兵器转回来，把它们聚集在这城中。我要在怒气、愤怒和大恼怒中，用伸出来的手和大能的膀臂，亲自攻击你们；又要击打这城的居民，他们连人带牲畜都必遭遇大瘟疫而死亡。以后，我要将犹大王西底家和他的臣仆百姓，就是在城内，从瘟疫、刀剑、饥荒中幸存的人，都交在巴比伦王尼布甲尼撒手中，交在仇敌和寻索其命的人手中。巴比伦王必用刀击杀他们，不顾惜，不同情，不怜悯。这是耶和华说的。’

信上说：“万军之耶和华—以色列的神对所有被掳的，就是我使他们从耶路撒冷被掳到巴比伦去的人如此说：你们要建造房屋，住在其中；要开垦田园，吃园中所出产的；要娶妻生儿养女，为你们的儿子娶妻，使你们的女儿嫁人，生儿养女。你们要在那里生养众多，不可减少。我使你们被掳到的那城，你们要为那城求平安，为那城向耶和华祈求，因为那城得平安，你们也随着得平安。

万民哪，任凭你们行恶，终必毁灭；远方的众人哪，当侧耳而听！任凭你们束腰，终必毁灭；你们束起腰来，终必毁灭。任凭你们筹算什么，终必无效；不管你们讲定什么，总不成立；因为神与我们同在。

巴比伦王要将西底家带到巴比伦；西底家必住在那里，直到我惩罚他的时候。你们虽与迦勒底人争战，却不顺利。这是耶和华说的。’”

你们即使击败与你们争战的迦勒底全军，他们当中剩下受伤的人也必各自从帐棚里起来，用火焚烧这城。’”

祸哉！那些下埃及求帮助的，他们仰赖马匹，倚靠甚多的战车，并倚靠强壮的骑兵，却不仰望以色列的圣者，也不求问耶和华。其实，耶和华有智慧，他降灾祸，并不撤回自己的话，却要兴起攻击作恶之家，攻击那帮助人作恶的。埃及人不过是人，并非神，他们的马不过是血肉，并不是灵。耶和华一伸手，那帮助人的必绊跌，受帮助的也必跌倒，都一同灭亡。

摩西说：“你们为何要这样违背耶和华的指示呢？这事必不能顺利。

耶和华如此说：“我必将犹大王西底家和他的众领袖，以及留在这地耶路撒冷剩余的人，并住在埃及地的犹大人都交出来，好像那极坏、坏得不能吃的无花果。我必使他们在地上万国中成为恐惧，成为灾祸，在我赶逐他们到的各处成为凌辱、笑柄、讥笑、诅咒的对象。我必使刀剑、饥荒、瘟疫临到他们，直到他们从我所赐给他们和他们祖先之地灭绝。”
