I will scatter to the winds all those around him— his staff and all his troops— and I will pursue them with drawn sword.

城被攻破，士兵全都在夜間從靠近王的花園、兩城牆中間的門逃跑。迦勒底人正在四圍攻城，王就往亞拉巴逃去。迦勒底的軍隊追趕王，在耶利哥的平原追上他；他的全軍都離開他潰散了。

所有逃跑的軍隊必倒在刀下；剩餘的也必分散四方。你們就知道說這話的是我－耶和華。」

或者我使刀劍臨到那地，說：『讓刀劍穿越那地』，以致我把人與牲畜從其中剪除；

「主耶和華如此說：我若將這四樣大災，就是刀劍、饑荒、惡獸、瘟疫降在耶路撒冷，將人與牲畜從其中剪除，豈不是更嚴重嗎？

現在你們要確實知道，你們在所要去的寄居之地必遭刀劍、饑荒、瘟疫而死。」

你們所懼怕的刀劍在埃及地必追上你們，你們所懼怕的饑荒在埃及要緊緊跟隨你們，你們必死在那裏。

我要把你們驅散到列國中，也要拔刀追趕你們。你們的地要成為荒涼，你們的城鎮要變成廢墟。

在你中間，父親要吃兒子，兒子要吃父親。我必向你施行審判，將你剩下的人分散四方。主耶和華說：我指着我的永生起誓，因你用一切可憎之物、可厭的事玷污我的聖所，所以，我要把你剃光，我的眼必不顧惜你，也不可憐你。你的百姓三分之一必遭瘟疫而死，因饑荒在你們中間而消滅；三分之一必在你四圍倒在刀下；我必將三分之一分散四方，要拔刀追趕他們。
