I will scatter to the winds all those around him— his staff and all his troops— and I will pursue them with drawn sword.

城终于被攻破了，所有的战士就在夜间从靠近王的花园的两墙中间的那门，逃跑出城。那时迦勒底人在四围攻城；他们就往亚拉巴的方向逃走。迦勒底人的军队追赶王，在耶利哥的原野上把他追上了；他的全军都离开他四散了。

他军中所有的精兵（按照《马索拉文本》，“精兵”作“逃跑的人”；现参照其他抄本、《七十士译本》和其他古译本翻译），都必倒在刀下；剩下的也必分散到四方；你们就知道说这话的是我耶和华。

如果我使刀剑临到那地，说：‘愿刀剑经过那地，好让我把人和牲畜从那地剪除。’

主耶和华这样说：“我打发刀剑、饥荒、猛兽和瘟疫这四样可怕的刑罚临到耶路撒冷，要把人和牲畜从那里剪除的时候，那情况岂不更严重吗？

现在你们要确实知道，在你们想去寄居的那地方，你们必因刀剑、饥荒和瘟疫而死。”

你们惧怕的刀剑必在埃及地追上你们；你们恐惧的饥荒必在埃及紧随着你们；你们必死在那里。

我要把你们分散在万国中，我又拔出刀来追赶你们；你们的地成为荒凉，你们的城市变成荒场。

因此，在你中间，父亲要吃儿子，儿子要吃父亲。我要向你施行审判，把你余剩的众人分散到四方去。“我指着我的永生起誓（这是主耶和华的宣告），你既然用你一切可憎的偶像和一切可厌的事来玷污我的圣所，我必收回对你的恩宠，我的眼必不顾惜你，我也不怜恤你。你的人民三分之一必在你中间因瘟疫死亡，因饥荒消灭；三分之一必在你周围因刀剑倒毙；三分之一，我要分散到四方去，我还要拔刀追赶他们。
