They say,‘ Haven’t our houses been recently rebuilt? This city is a pot, and we are the meat in it.’

They say,‘ Haven’t our houses just been built again? The city is like a pot used for cooking. And we are the meat in it.’

who say,‘ The time is not near to build houses. This city is the cauldron, and we are the meat.’

They say to the people,‘ Is it not a good time to build houses? This city is like an iron pot. We are safe inside it like meat in a pot.’

They are saying,‘ Isn’t the time near to build houses? The city is the pot, and we are the meat.’

「人子啊，你看，以色列人在說，『他見的異象是關乎多年後的事，他說的預言是針對遙遠的未來。』

「人子啊，你們以色列有一句俗語，『光陰流逝，異象都落空。』

「主要降臨的應許在哪裡？從我們的祖先長眠地下直到現在，萬物依舊與創世之初一樣。」

以色列境內的居民啊，惡運降臨了！時候已到，日子已近，山上一片恐慌，歡樂蕩然無存。

你們伴著琴聲唱慵懶的歌，像大衛一樣為自己製造樂器。

你要向叛逆的以色列人說比喻，告訴他們，主耶和華這樣說，『把鍋放在火上，裡面倒進水，把羊腿、羊肩等上好的肉塊放進鍋裡，讓鍋裡盛滿精選的骨頭。要從羊群中選一頭上好的羊，把柴堆在鍋下，燒開鍋煮裡面的骨頭。』」主耶和華說：「這像鏽鍋一樣充滿血腥的城有禍了！要把肉從這鏽跡斑斑的鍋中一塊塊地取出來。這城沾滿血腥，任憑受害者的血流在光禿禿的磐石上，而不是流在地上用土掩蓋。我任憑這城把受害者的血灑在磐石上，不加掩蓋，好激起我的烈怒，使她受報應。所以主耶和華說，『血腥的城啊，你有禍了！我要預備大堆木柴，添在火上，燃起旺火，把肉煮爛，加入香料，燒焦骨頭。然後，把倒空的鍋放在炭火上燒熱，把銅燒紅，好熔化它的雜質，除淨鏽垢，卻徒勞無功，因為鏽垢太厚，就是用火也不能清除。耶路撒冷啊，淫蕩使你污穢不堪，我要潔淨你，你卻不願被潔淨。所以，除非我向你傾盡一切憤怒，否則你的污穢將不能清除。我耶和華言出必行，決不寬容，也不留情，我必照你的所作所為來審判你。』這是主耶和華說的。」

耶和華又對我說：「耶利米，你看見什麼？」我說：「我看見一根杏樹枝。」耶和華說：「不錯。我必實現我說過的話。」耶和華又對我說：「你看見什麼？」我回答說：「我看見一鍋煮沸的水，從北方傾倒下來。」

所以，主耶和華說，你們在城中殺死的人就是肉，這城就是鍋，但我必把你們從鍋中拉出來。你們懼怕刀劍，我必使刀劍臨到你們。這是主耶和華說的。我必把你們從城中趕出去，交給外族人。我必懲罰你們，使你們死於刀下。我要審判整個以色列，這樣你們就知道我是耶和華。這城必不是你們的鍋，你們也必不是其中的肉，我必在全以色列施行審判。

他們說：「讓上帝快點完成祂的工作，好讓我們看看；讓以色列的聖者早點實現祂的計劃，好讓我們知道。」
