那麼你的智慧人在哪裏呢？萬軍之永恆主對責罰埃及所定的旨意、他們儘可以告訴你，儘可以播知出來呀。

耶穌對他們說：『我看見撒但從天上跌了下來，像閃電一樣。

迦勒底博學的人在王面前回答說：『世界上沒有人能將王所問的事說出來的，因為沒有王、多麼大、多麼有權力、曾經向任何學術士、或用法術的、或迦勒底博學的人、問過這樣事的。王所問的事很難答；除了不居於血肉之軀的神明、沒有別的能在王面前說出來的。』

你儘管堅決進行你的符咒吧！進行你幼年所勞碌而行的，進行你許多邪術吧！或者能有用處！或者可以使人戰抖呀！你因你許多計謀而勞累；如今只管讓那些劃分天象、觀看星辰、在月初播知將來之事的、都站起來，救你脫離所要臨到於你的事呀！

於是那些學術士、那些用法術的、和迦勒底博學的人、跟占卜的、都進了來；我將那夢告訴了他們，他們卻不能把夢的解析告訴我。

從前雅尼和佯庇用甚麼方法反對摩西，這些人也這樣反對真理；他們是心思壞透了的人，在信仰的事上全不中用。但他們再也不能往前進了；因為他們的愚昧必在眾人面前顯得明明白白，像那兩人一樣。
