他將無動於衷。那時，我必伸手重重地懲罰埃及，然後領我的大隊子民離開埃及。

耶和華對摩西說：「你到了埃及，見到法老的時候，務要照我賜給你的能力在法老面前行神蹟。但我要使他的心剛硬，他必不讓百姓離開。

聖經上說：「你們今日若聽見祂的聲音，不可像從前那樣硬著心悖逆祂。」

不可心裡頑固，像從前在曠野試探祂、悖逆祂一樣。

有人向埃及王報信，說以色列百姓逃走了。法老和他的臣僕便改變主意，說：「我們怎麼可以讓以色列人就這樣離開我們，不再服侍我們呢？」

他們卻不理會，背過身去，充耳不聞，心如鐵石，不遵從律法，也不遵從萬軍之耶和華藉著祂的靈指示從前的先知所說的話。因此，萬軍之耶和華非常憤怒。

屢教不改、頑固不化者，必突然滅亡，無可挽救。

人們被炙熱灼傷，就褻瀆掌管這些災禍的上帝的名，他們毫無悔意，不肯歸榮耀給上帝。

耶和華說：「以法蓮啊，我該怎樣待你呢？猶大啊，我該怎樣待你呢？你們對我的愛像晨霧，如轉瞬即逝的朝露。
