Pharaoh continued,“ There are large numbers of your people in the land. But you are stopping them from working.”

又说：“看哪，这地的以色列人如今众多，你们竟叫他们歇下担子！”

他又说：“看哪，这地的以色列人如今这么多，你们竟然叫他们歇下劳役！”

他又说：“看哪，这地的以色列人如今这么多，你们竟然叫他们歇下劳役！”

法老又说：“这地方的以色列人如此众多，你竟叫他们停止工作！”

法老又说：“你看，现在这地的民很多，你们竟叫他们歇下担子？”

又說：「看哪，這地的以色列人如今眾多，你們竟叫他們歇下擔子！」

他又說：「看哪，這地的以色列人如今這麼多，你們竟然叫他們歇下勞役！」

他又說：「看哪，這地的以色列人如今這麼多，你們竟然叫他們歇下勞役！」

法老又說：「這地方的以色列人如此眾多，你竟叫他們停止工作！」

法老又說：“你看，現在這地的民很多，你們竟叫他們歇下擔子？”

法老說：『看哪，這地的人民如今很多，你們竟叫他們歇下擔子。』

又曰、斯民眾多、爾乃弛其負擔、

又曰、此族眾多、爾使之不負戴曷故。○

法老又曰、斯民眾多、爾竟欲使之不服役乎、

Then Pharaoh said,“ Look, the people of the land are now numerous, and you are stopping them from working.”

And Pharaoh said,“ Behold, the people of the land are now many, and you make them rest from their burdens!”

Look, there are many of your people in the land, and you are stopping them from their work.”

Pharaoh also said,“ Look, the people of the land are so numerous, and you would stop them from their labor.”

Again Pharaoh said,“ Look, the people of the land are now many, and you would have them cease from their labors!”

And Pharaoh said,“ Look, the people of the land are many now, and you make them rest from their labor!”

And Pharaoh said, Behold, the people of the land are now many, and ye make them rest from their burdens.

Pharaoh also said,“ Look, the people of the land are so numerous, and you would stop them from working.”

And Pharaoh said, Behold, the people of the land now[ are] many, and ye make them rest from their burdens.

Pharaoh was thinking,“ The people of the land are now many, and you are giving them rest from their labor.”

Pharaoh said,“ Behold, the people of the land are now many, and you make them rest from their burdens.”

A large population is a king’s glory. But a prince without followers is destroyed.

The people of Israel had many children. The number of them greatly increased. There were so many of them that they filled the land.Then a new king came to power in Egypt. Joseph didn’t mean anything to him.“ Look,” he said to his people.“ The Israelites are far too many for us.Come. We must deal with them carefully. If we don’t, there will be even more of them. Then if war breaks out, they’ll join our enemies. They’ll fight against us and leave the country.”So the Egyptians put slave drivers over the people of Israel. The slave drivers treated them badly and made them work hard. The Israelites built the cities of Pithom and Rameses so Pharaoh could store things there.
