“不可与当地的居民立约，免得他们与自己的神明苟合时邀请你，你就吃他们的祭物，

只怕你与那地的居民立约，百姓随从他们的神，就行邪淫，祭祀他们的神，有人叫你，你便吃他的祭物，

你不可与那地的居民立约，因为他们随从自己的神明行淫；祭他们神明的时候，有人邀请你参加，你就会吃他的祭物。

爾若與其地之居民立約、恐彼妄從其神、祭祀其神、招爾食其祭物、

但他们不听从士师的话，与其他神明苟合，祭拜它们，很快偏离他们祖先的道路，没有像他们的祖先那样遵行耶和华的命令。

耶和华对摩西说：“你快要与祖先同眠了。这些百姓将很快在要占领的土地上与外族人的神明苟合，背弃我，违背我与他们所立的约。

那些女子邀他们参加祭祀，他们吃了祭物，并跪拜她们的神明，

论到吃献给偶像的祭物，我们知道世上的偶像算不得什么，只有一位上帝，此外别无他神。

他们在毗珥祭拜巴力，吃献给假神的祭物。

如果有非信徒邀请你们吃饭，你们又愿意去，那么，桌上摆的各样食物，你们只管吃，不必为良心的缘故而询问什么。

如果有人看见你这明白以上道理的人竟然坐在偶像的庙中吃喝，他虽然良心不安，岂不还是会放胆吃献给偶像的祭物吗？

他们不可再献祭物给山羊神，与其苟合。这是一条永远不变的律例，他们世世代代都要遵守。

你要谨慎，到了目的地后，不可与当地的居民立约，免得因此而陷入网罗。

不过，并不是所有的人都有这种知识。有些人因为以前拜惯了偶像，现在吃到某些食物就觉得是祭过偶像的，因而良心不安，觉得自己被玷污了。

以色列肆意淫乱，拜石头木头，玷污了土地。

我必严惩那人一家，从民中铲除他和那些追随他与摩洛苟合的人。如果有人求问灵媒或巫师，与他们苟合，我必严惩，将他从民中铲除。

穗子是用来提醒他们要遵行我的一切命令，不要随从自己心中和眼目的情欲，以免玷污自己。

当然不是，我的意思是那些异教徒所献的祭是祭鬼魔的，而不是献给上帝的。我不愿意你们与鬼魔有任何关系。你们不能又喝主的杯又喝鬼魔的杯，不能又吃主的圣餐又吃祭鬼魔的食物。

耶和华说：“我要与你立约，我要在你的同胞面前行奇事，是天下万国从未有过的奇事，你周围的外族人必看见我为你做的伟大而可畏的事。

拿着七碗的七位天使中有一位前来对我说：“你过来！我要让你看那坐在众水之上的大淫妇将要遭受的刑罚。地上的君王与她行淫，地上其他人也因喝了她淫乱的酒而酩酊大醉。”那时，我被圣灵感动，被天使带到旷野，在那里见到一个妇人骑着一只朱红色的怪兽。怪兽有七头十角，浑身写满亵渎上帝的名号。那妇人身穿紫色和朱红色的袍子，用黄金、宝石及珍珠装扮自己。她手中拿着金杯，里面盛满了她淫乱的污秽、可憎之物。在她额上还写了一个神秘的名号：“大巴比伦——地上淫妇及可憎事物之母”。

那些远离你的人必灭亡，你必灭绝不忠于你的人。

“我的子民祈求木头，随从木杖的指引。淫乱的心使他们走入歧途，他们不忠不贞，背弃他们的上帝。

他们向天上的上帝献燔祭时所需的公牛犊、公绵羊、绵羊羔、小麦、盐、酒和油，都要照耶路撒冷祭司的话天天供给他们，不得有误，

可是有一件事我要责备你，就是你容许那自称是先知的妇人耶洗别教导我的众奴仆，引诱他们淫乱、吃祭过偶像的食物。

不可跟这些民族及其神明立约，

以色列啊，不要欢喜快乐，不要像外族人那样欢喜快乐！因为你对你的上帝不忠不贞，在各麦场上喜爱卖淫得资财。

当你们的上帝耶和华把他们交在你们手里、使你们打败他们后，你们必须彻底毁灭他们。不可与他们立约，不可怜悯他们。
