也不要拜偶像，像他們中有些人曾經拜過。如經上所記：「百姓坐下吃喝，起來玩樂。」

這些女子請百姓一同為她們的神明獻祭，百姓吃了祭物，跪拜她們的神明。

非利士人的領袖聚集，要向他們的神明大袞獻大祭，並且慶祝，說：「我們的神明把我們的仇敵參孫交在我們手中了。」眾人看見參孫，就讚美他們的神明說：「我們的神明把那毀壞我們的地、殺害我們許多人的仇敵交在我們手中了。」他們心裏高興的時候，就說：「叫參孫來，逗我們歡樂。」於是他們把參孫從監獄裏提出來，在他們面前戲耍。他們叫他站在兩根柱子中間。

那時，他們造了一個牛犢，又拿祭物獻給那像，為自己手所做的工作歡躍。但是上帝轉臉不顧，任憑他們祭拜天上的日月星辰，正如先知書上所寫的：『以色列家啊，你們四十年間在曠野，何曾將犧牲和祭物獻給我？

住在地上的人會因他們而歡喜快樂，互相饋送禮物，因為這兩位先知曾使住在地上的人受痛苦。

他們在各祭壇旁邊，躺臥在人所典當的衣服上，又在他們上帝的殿裏喝受罰之人的酒。

約書亞一聽見百姓呼喊的聲音，就對摩西說：「在營裏有戰爭的聲音。」摩西說：「這不是打勝仗的聲音，也不是打敗仗的聲音，我聽見的是歌唱的聲音。」摩西走近營前，看見牛犢，又看見人在跳舞，就發烈怒，把兩塊版從手中扔到山下摔碎了。

「我要使你們的節期變為悲哀，你們一切的歌曲變為哀歌；我要使眾人腰束麻布，頭上光禿；我要使這悲哀如喪獨子，其結局如悲痛的日子。

摩西將耶和華一切的命令都寫下來。他清早起來，在山腳築了一座壇，按着以色列十二支派立了十二根石柱。他差派以色列的年輕人去獻燔祭，又宰牛獻給耶和華為平安祭。
