He took what they handed him and made it into an idol cast in the shape of a calf, fashioning it with a tool. Then they said,“ These are your gods, Israel, who brought you up out of Egypt.”

He took what they gave him and made it into a metal statue of a god. It looked like a calf. Aaron shaped it with a tool. Then the people said,“ Israel, here is your god who brought you up out of Egypt.”

And he received the gold from their hand and fashioned it with a graving tool and made a golden calf. And they said,“ These are your gods, O Israel, who brought you up out of the land of Egypt!”

Then Aaron took the gold, melted it down, and molded it into the shape of a calf. When the people saw it, they exclaimed,“ O Israel, these are the gods who brought you out of the land of Egypt!”

He took the gold from them, fashioned it with an engraving tool, and made it into an image of a calf. Then they said,“ Israel, these are your gods, who brought you up from the land of Egypt!”

制造偶像的人，尽都是虚空的，他们所喜爱的，都没有益处。他们的见证人，一无所见，一无所知，以致他们蒙羞。谁制造神像，或铸造偶像，不想得到益处呢？

王打定了主意，就做了两个金牛犊，对众民说：“以色列人哪，你们上耶路撒冷去实在够了。看哪，这是你们的神，就是从埃及地领你们上来的那位。”

现在你们有意要反抗大卫子孙手下的耶和华的国；你们人数众多，你们那里也有金牛犊，就是耶罗波安为你们所做，当作神的。

他们在何烈山做了牛犊，敬拜铸成的偶像。这样，他们用吃草的牛的像，代替了他们的荣耀的神。他们竟忘记了拯救他们的神；他曾在埃及行了大事，

耶罗波安为邱坛、公山羊神，以及他铸造的牛犊，自己设立了祭司。

你们把谁来跟神相比呢？你们用什么形象来与神并列呢？至于偶像，是匠人铸造的，铸匠用金子把它包裹，用银子为它做银链。

那些从钱袋倒出金子，用天平称银子的人，雇用金匠制造神像；他们向神像又俯伏又叩拜。

撒玛利亚的居民必因伯．亚文的牛犊而惧怕；拜牛犊的人民必为它哀恸。拜牛犊的祭司必为它哀号，都因它的荣耀离开它而被掳去了。

只是耶户没有离弃尼八的儿子耶罗波安的罪，就是他使以色列人陷于罪中的那些罪，敬拜在伯特利和但的金牛犊。

米迦就把那十二公斤银子归还给他母亲；他母亲说：“我把这些银子从我手中分别为圣，为我的儿子归给耶和华，好做一个雕像，一个铸像；现在，我要还给你。”米迦把银子还给他母亲以后，他母亲取出二千三百克银子交给银匠，制造一个雕像和一个铸像，都放在米迦的家里。

因为他们虽然知道神，却不尊他为神，也不感谢他，反而心思变为虚妄，愚顽的心就迷糊了。他们自以为是聪明的，却成了愚蠢的。他们用必朽坏的人、飞禽、走兽和昆虫的形象，取代了永不朽坏的神的荣耀。

你们不可做银的神像和金的神像和我相比，你们决不可为自己做这些神像。

人民见摩西迟迟不下山，就聚集到亚伦那里去，对他说：“起来，为我们做神像可以走在我们前头领路，因为那摩西，就是把我们从埃及地领出来的那个人，我们不知道他遭遇了什么事。”

我们既然是神的子孙，就不应该以为他的神性是好像人用手艺、心思所雕刻的金银石头一样。

现在他们犯罪越来越多，为自己做铸像，按着自己的技巧，用自己的银子做偶像；这些都是匠人的手工。他们论到这些说：“向偶像献祭的人，可以亲吻牛犊。”

“他们立了君王，却不是出于我；他们立了首领，我却不知道。他们用自己的金银为自己做了偶像，以致他们被剪除。撒玛利亚啊！我要除掉你的牛犊，我的怒气要向撒玛利亚人发作，他们要到几时才能无罪免罚呢？

好像宝石雕刻匠刻印章一样，你要把以色列众子的名字刻在这两块宝石上，要把它们镶嵌在金槽中。

“我是耶和华你的神，曾经把你从埃及地，从为奴之家领出来。

耶罗波安又定了八月十五日为节期，像在犹大的节期一样，他自己在祭坛上献祭，他在伯特利也是这样向他所铸造的牛犊献祭；他又在伯特利为他所建造的邱坛设立祭司。
