He took what they handed him and made it into an idol cast in the shape of a calf, fashioning it with a tool. Then they said,“ These are your gods, Israel, who brought you up out of Egypt.”

And he received the gold from their hand and fashioned it with a graving tool and made a golden calf. And they said,“ These are your gods, O Israel, who brought you up out of the land of Egypt!”

Then Aaron took the gold, melted it down, and molded it into the shape of a calf. When the people saw it, they exclaimed,“ O Israel, these are the gods who brought you out of the land of Egypt!”

制造偶像的真是无用，他们珍爱的偶像毫无价值。拜神像的人目盲眼瞎，愚昧无知，自找羞辱。制造神像、雕刻无益偶像的是谁？

他征询臣僚的意见后，就铸造了两个金牛犊，对民众说：“以色列人啊，你们上耶路撒冷敬拜太麻烦了。这两个金牛犊就是领你们出埃及的神明。”

“现在你们仗着人多势众，又有耶罗波安制造的金牛犊作为你们的神明，便企图反抗大卫子孙所治理的耶和华的国度。

他们在何烈山铸造牛犊，祭拜偶像，他们把荣耀的上帝变成了吃草之牛的铸像。他们忘记了拯救他们的上帝，祂曾在埃及行奇事，

耶罗波安却为丘坛、公山羊像和他造的牛犊像设立他自己的祭司。

你们拿谁与上帝相比呢？你们用什么形象比作上帝呢？偶像是工匠制造的，银匠替它包上金子、打造银链。

有些人从囊中取金子，又用天平称银子，雇银匠制造神像，然后向它俯伏叩拜。

撒玛利亚的居民要因伯·亚文的牛犊偶像而恐惧颤抖；祭拜它的人要哀伤，供奉它的祭司要痛哭，因为它的荣耀将离开他们。

可是，他重蹈尼八的儿子耶罗波安的覆辙，拜伯特利和但两地的金牛犊，使以色列人陷入罪中。

米迦把一千一百块银子还给母亲。他母亲说：“我要为你把这些银子献给耶和华，用来雕刻、铸造神像。现在这银子还是你的。”米迦把银子还给母亲后，他母亲拿出二百块银子交给银匠雕刻、铸造神像，放在米迦的房子里。

他们虽然明知有上帝，却不把祂当作上帝，既不将荣耀归给祂，也不感谢祂。他们的思想因此变得荒谬无用，无知的心也变得昏暗不明。他们自以为聪明，其实愚不可及，以必朽的人、飞禽、走兽和爬虫的形象来取代永恒上帝的荣耀。

除了敬拜我之外，不可为自己制造金银神像。

百姓见摩西迟迟没有下山，就聚集到亚伦那里，对他说：“领我们离开埃及的那个摩西不知怎样了，你给我们造神像来带领我们吧。”

我们既然是上帝的子孙，就不该认为上帝是人凭手艺和想象用金、银、石头所雕刻的样子。

如今他们作恶日甚，凭借自己的聪明用银子铸造神像，但这不过是匠人之作。人们议论他们说：“那些献祭的人竟亲吻牛犊偶像！”

他们拥立君王，未经我的同意；选立首领，没有让我知道。他们用金银为自己制造神像，自取灭亡。我鄙弃撒玛利亚人所拜的牛犊，我要向他们发怒，他们到什么时候才能洁身自守呢？

要用工匠雕刻图章的方法将他们的名字刻在两块宝石上，把宝石镶在两个金框里面。

“我是你的上帝耶和华，曾把你领出埃及，使你不再受奴役。

耶罗波安规定每年八月十五日为节期，好像犹大的节期一样。他自己在伯特利的祭坛上向金牛犊献祭烧香，又派神庙的祭司在献祭中司职。
