那时，出卖耶稣的犹大见耶稣定了罪，就后悔了。他把那三十块银子还给祭司长和长老，说：“我有罪了！我出卖了无辜的人﹙“人”原文作“血”。﹚！”他们说：“这是你的事，跟我们有什么关系？”犹大把银子丢进圣所，然后离开，出去吊死了。祭司长把银子拾起来，说：“这是血钱，不可放在殿库里。”他们商议之后，就用那些钱买了“陶匠的田”，用来作外国人的坟地。

摩西看见人民放肆原来是亚伦纵容他们，使他们成为那些起来与他们为敌的人的笑柄，

他用不义的酬劳买了一块田，结果倒头栽了下去，腹破肠流。

亚伦从他们手中接过来，用雕刻的工具雕刻，铸造了一个牛像；他们就说：“以色列啊，这就是你们的神，就是把你从埃及地领出来的那位。”

你为什么藐视耶和华的话，行他看为恶的事呢？你用刀击杀了赫人乌利亚，娶了他的妻子作你的妻子，你藉着亚扪人的刀杀了乌利亚。所以，从今以后，刀剑必不离开你的家，因为你藐视了我，娶了赫人乌利亚的妻子作你的妻子。’

在那些日子里，他们做了一个牛犊，把祭物献给那偶像，并且因自己手所做的而欢乐。
