摩西说：“今天你们要奉献自己归耶和华为圣，因为各人牺牲了自己的儿子和兄弟，好使耶和华今天赐福给你们。”

摩西說：『今天你們授聖職與自己歸永恆主了，因為各人犧牲了自己的兒子或弟兄，好使今天有祝福給予你們。』

摩西曾曰、今日爾當自潔、歸耶和華為聖、各擊子女昆弟、致蒙錫嘏於爾、○

摩西曰、今日爾任職、奉事耶和華、攻爾子女兄弟、如是耶和華錫爾純嘏。○

摩西謂利未人曰、爾能不顧己之子女兄弟、今日必得奉事主之職、並蒙主今日賜福於爾、○

Then Moses said,“ You have been set apart to the Lord today, for you were against your own sons and brothers, and he has blessed you this day.”

Then Moses said to the Levites,“ You have been set apart for the Lord today. You fought against your own sons and brothers. And he has blessed you this day.”

And Moses said,“ Today you have been ordained for the service of the Lord, each one at the cost of his son and of his brother, so that he might bestow a blessing upon you this day.”

Then Moses told the Levites,“ Today you have ordained yourselves for the service of the Lord, for you obeyed him even though it meant killing your own sons and brothers. Today you have earned a blessing.”

Afterward Moses said,“ Today you have been dedicated to the LORD, since each man went against his son and his brother. Therefore you have brought a blessing on yourselves today.”

Then Moses said,“ Dedicate yourselves today to the Lord— for every man has been against his son and against his brother— in order that He may bestow a blessing upon you today.”

Then Moses said,“ Consecrate yourselves today to the Lord, that He may bestow on you a blessing this day, for every man has opposed his son and his brother.”

And Moses said, Consecrate yourselves to- day to Jehovah, yea, every man against his son, and against his brother; that he may bestow upon you a blessing this day.

Afterward Moses said,“ Today you have been dedicated to the Lord, since each man went against his son and his brother. Therefore you have brought a blessing on yourselves today.”

For Moses had said, Consecrate yourselves to day to the LORD, even every man upon his son, and upon his brother; that he may bestow upon you a blessing this day.

Moses said,“ You have been consecrated today for the LORD, for each of you was against his son or against his brother, so he has given a blessing to you today.”

Moses said,“ Consecrate yourselves today to Yahweh, for every man was against his son and against his brother, that he may give you a blessing today.”

「祭司亞倫的孫子，以利亞撒的兒子非尼哈，使我向以色列人所發的怒消了；因他在他們中間，以我的忌邪為心，使我不在忌邪中把他們除滅。因此，你要說：『我將我平安的約賜給他。這約要給他和他的後裔，作為永遠當祭司職任的約；因他為神有忌邪的心，為以色列人贖罪。』」

「愛父母過於愛我的，不配作我的門徒；愛兒女過於愛我的，不配作我的門徒；

若再有人說預言，生他的父母必對他說：『你不得存活，因為你託耶和華的名說假預言。』生他的父母在他說預言的時候，要將他刺透。

耶和華說：雖然如此，你們應當禁食、哭泣、悲哀，一心歸向我。你們要撕裂心腸，不撕裂衣服。歸向耶和華－你們的神；因為他有恩典，有憐憫，不輕易發怒，有豐盛的慈愛，並且後悔不降所說的災。或者他轉意後悔，留下餘福，就是留下獻給耶和華－你們神的素祭和奠祭，也未可知。

行仁義公平比獻祭更蒙耶和華悅納。

「你的同胞弟兄，或是你的兒女，或是你懷中的妻，或是如同你性命的朋友，若暗中引誘你，說：『我們不如去事奉你和你列祖素來所不認識的別神－是你四圍列國的神。』無論是離你近，離你遠，從地這邊到地那邊的神，你不可依從他，也不可聽從他，眼不可顧惜他。你不可憐恤他，也不可遮庇他，總要殺他；你先下手，然後眾民也下手，將他治死。要用石頭打死他，因為他想要勾引你離開那領你出埃及地為奴之家的耶和華－你的神。以色列眾人都要聽見害怕，就不敢在你們中間再行這樣的惡了。

耶和華差遣你，吩咐你說，你去擊打那些犯罪的亞瑪力人，將他們滅絕淨盡。你為何沒有聽從耶和華的命令，急忙擄掠財物，行耶和華眼中看為惡的事呢？」掃羅對撒母耳說：「我實在聽從了耶和華的命令，行了耶和華所差遣我行的路，擒了亞瑪力王亞甲來，滅盡了亞瑪力人。百姓卻在所當滅的物中，取了最好的牛羊，要在吉甲獻與耶和華－你的神。」撒母耳說：耶和華喜悅燔祭和平安祭，豈如喜悅人聽從他的話呢？聽命勝於獻祭；順從勝於公羊的脂油。

他論自己的父母說：我未曾看見；他也不承認弟兄，也不認識自己的兒女。這是因利未人遵行你的話，謹守你的約。他們要將你的典章教訓雅各，將你的律法教訓以色列。他們要把香焚在你面前，把全牲的燔祭獻在你的壇上。
