於是，摩西帶著他的助手約書亞動身上了上帝的山。

摩西對約書亞說：「選一些人出去迎戰亞瑪力人。明天，我會帶著上帝的杖站在山頂上。」

所以，我要在戰爭的吶喊聲中，在暴風雨吹襲的時候，降火在拉巴的城牆上，燒毀它的城堡。

萬民啊，你們要鼓掌，向上帝高聲歡呼！

聽到角聲，牠就發出長嘶，牠老遠便嗅到戰爭的氣味，並聽見吶喊和將領的號令。

走到第七次，祭司吹響了號角，約書亞吩咐民眾說：「吶喊吧！因為耶和華已經將這城交給你們了。

以色列人和猶大人乘勢吶喊，追殺非利士人，直追到迦特和以革倫的城門。通往迦特和以革倫的沙拉音大道上到處是非利士人的屍體。

非利士人看見參孫來到利希，就呐喊著迎了上去。耶和華的靈降在參孫身上，綁在他手臂上的繩子就像被火燒的麻線一樣脫落下來。

他們彼此唱和，讚美、稱謝耶和華，說：「祂是美善的，因為祂向以色列人永施慈愛！」所有人都高聲歡呼讚美耶和華，因為耶和華殿的根基已經立好。許多曾見過舊殿的年長的祭司、利未人和族長看見這殿的根基，不禁放聲大哭，也有很多人高聲歡呼。人們無法分辨是痛哭聲還是歡呼聲，因為眾人都大聲呼喊，聲音傳到遠處。

摩西對他說：「這不是打勝仗的聲音，也不是打敗仗的聲音，而是狂歡的聲音。」

以色列人看見耶和華的約櫃到了營中，就高聲歡呼，聲音震天動地。非利士人聽見了喊聲就說：「希伯來人在營中喊什麼？」後來他們知道是耶和華的約櫃到了營中，

當你們聽到號角長鳴時，所有的人都要高聲吶喊，城牆就會坍塌，眾人便可以直衝上去。」

萬軍之耶和華憑自己起誓說：「我要使敵人如蝗蟲一樣鋪天蓋地而來，佔據你們的家園，歡呼勝利。」

約書亞吩咐民眾：「在我下令叫你們吶喊以前，誰也不許作聲，一句話也不許說。」

大衛清早起來把羊交給一個牧人看顧，然後照父親的吩咐帶著食物出發了。他來到軍營的時候，大軍正吶喊著出戰。

所以我要降火在摩押，燒毀加略的城堡。摩押要在戰爭的喧囂、吶喊和號角聲中滅亡。

於是，民眾聽到號角聲時，就高聲呐喊，城牆便坍塌了。民眾便一擁而上，佔領了耶利哥城，
