For six days work is to be done, but the seventh day is a day of sabbath rest, holy to the Lord. Whoever does any work on the Sabbath day is to be put to death.

“你六日要工作，但第七天你要休息，在耕種和收割的時候，也要休息。

耶和華宣告說：“但如果你們真心聽從我，不在安息日挑擔子進入這城的城門，並且守安息日為聖日，在那日不作任何工作；這樣，就必有坐大衛王位的列王，並有眾領袖隨著，進入這城的城門；列王和眾領袖乘著車，騎著馬，跟猶大人和耶路撒冷的居民一同進入這城。這城必永遠有人居住。必有人從猶大的各城和耶路撒冷周圍的各處，從便雅憫地、低地、山地和南地而來；他們帶著燔祭、平安祭、素祭、乳香和感恩祭到耶和華的殿裡去。但如果你們不聽從我，不守安息日為聖日，仍在安息日挑擔子，進入耶路撒冷的城門；這樣，我就必在耶路撒冷的各城門點起火來，燒毀耶路撒冷的堡壘，沒有人能夠撲滅。”

就回去預備香料和香膏。安息日，她們遵著誡命安息。

六日要工作，但第七日是你們的聖日，要歸耶和華為休息的安息日。凡是在這日工作的，必須把他處死。

“要記念安息日，守為聖日。六日要勞碌，作你一切工作。但第七日是耶和華你的神的安息日；這一日，你和你的兒女，你的僕婢和牲畜，以及住在你城裡的寄居者，不可作任何的工。因為耶和華在六日之內造天、地、海和其中的萬物，第七日就歇息了；所以耶和華賜福安息日，定為聖日。

這樣看來，為了神的子民，必定另外有一個“安息日”的安息保留下來。

這是我和以色列人中間永遠的記號，因為六日之內耶和華創造了天地，但第七日就歇了工休息了。”

所以你們應該守安息日，因為這是你們的聖日；凡是違反這日的，必要把他處死；凡是在這日工作的，那人必要從他的族人中被剪除。

以色列人在曠野的時候，有一個人在安息日撿柴。遇見他撿柴的人，就把他帶到摩西、亞倫和全體會眾那裡。他們把他收在監裡，因為要怎樣辦他，還未明朗。耶和華對摩西說：“那人必須處死，全體會眾要在營外用石頭把他打死。”於是全體會眾把他拉出營外，用石頭把他打死，正如耶和華吩咐摩西的。

主耶和華這樣說：“內院朝東的門，在工作的六天裡，必須關閉，在安息日卻要打開，在月朔之日也要打開。

會堂的主管，因為耶穌在安息日治病，就氣忿忿地對群眾說：“有六天是應當作工的，你們可以在這六天裡來求醫，但在安息日卻不可以。”

六天你們可以收取，但第七天是安息日，在那一天甚麼都沒有了。”

這是你們完全休歇的安息日，並要刻苦己心；從這月初九晚上，到次日晚上，你們要守安息日。”
