“‘耶和华说，你们要留心听我的话，在安息日不可运货物进耶路撒冷的城门，不可做任何工作，要守安息日为圣日。这样，坐大卫宝座的君王及其官员必乘车骑马和犹大人以及耶路撒冷的居民从城门出入。这城必永远有人居住。人们必带着燔祭、平安祭、素祭、乳香和感恩祭从犹大的城邑、耶路撒冷四周、便雅悯地区、丘陵、山区和南地去耶和华的殿。但如果你们不听我的话，不守安息日为圣日，仍在安息日运货物进耶路撒冷的城门，我必在各城门点起无法扑灭的大火，烧毁耶路撒冷的宫殿。’”

便回家去预备香料和膏油。安息日到了，她们按律法的规定休息了一天。

一周可以工作六天，但第七天是圣日，是你们为耶和华守安息的日子。凡在这一天工作的，必被处死。

“要记住安息日，守为圣日。你一周可工作六天，但第七天是你的上帝耶和华的安息日，这一天你和儿女、仆婢、牲畜及你那里的外族人不可做任何工。因为耶和华用六天造了天、地、海和其中的万物，第七天便休息了，所以耶和华赐福这日，把它定为圣日。

这样说来，必定另有一个安息日为上帝的子民存留，使他们可以真正安歇。

这是我和以色列人之间永久的记号。耶和华用六天的时间创造天地万物，在第七天停工休息。”

你们要守安息日，以它为圣日。凡不守这诫命的，必被处死。凡在这天工作的，必从民中被铲除。

以色列人在旷野的时候，发现有人在安息日捡柴，他们就把捡柴的人带到摩西、亚伦和全体会众那里，把他关起来，因为不知道如何处置他。耶和华对摩西说：“必须处死那人，全体会众要在营外用石头打死他。”于是，全体会众照耶和华对摩西的吩咐，把他拉到营外，用石头打死了他。

“主耶和华说，‘圣殿内院的东门在平时工作的六日内都要关闭，只在安息日和朔日才打开。

会堂主管看到耶稣在安息日为人治病，十分恼怒，就对众人说：“一周有六天可以工作，求医应当在这六天之内，不可在安息日！”

你们有六天可以拾取食物，但第七天是安息日，没有食物可以拾取。”

那是你们可以完全休息的安息之日。从七月九日傍晚至次日傍晚，你们必须禁食。”
