There the angel of the Lord appeared to him in flames of fire from within a bush. Moses saw that though the bush was on fire it did not burn up.

过了四十年，在西奈山的旷野，一位天使在荆棘火焰中向摩西显现。摩西见了这景象，感到惊奇。正当他上前要观看的时候，有主的声音说：‘我是你祖先的神，就是亚伯拉罕、以撒、雅各的神。’摩西战战兢兢，不敢观看。“主对他说：‘脱掉你脚上的鞋，因为你站的地方是圣地。我的子民在埃及的困苦，我确实看见了；他们的呻吟，我也听见了；于是我下来要救他们。现在你来！我要差派你到埃及去。’“这摩西就是他们拒绝说‘谁委任你做首领和审判官’的那位，神却藉着那在荆棘中向他显现的天使的手，差派他做首领、做救赎者。

弟兄们，我们不愿意你们不明白我们在亚细亚省所遭受的患难：我们所受的压力远远过于我们的承受能力，甚至连活下去的希望也没有了。然而我们在自己里面已经承受了死亡的判决，好让我们不依靠自己，而依靠那使死人复活的神。他救我们脱离了如此致命的危险，并且将来要救我们——我们盼望他将来还要救我们。

至于死人复活的事，摩西在‘荆棘篇’上也指明了，正如称主是‘亚伯拉罕的神、以撒的神、雅各的神。’

关于死人复活的事，你们难道没有读过摩西书‘荆棘篇’上，神怎样对摩西说的吗？神说‘我是亚伯拉罕的神、以撒的神、雅各的神。’

万军之耶和华说：“看哪，我要派遣我的使者在我前面预备道路！你们所寻求的主，必突然来到他的殿；看哪，你们所喜悦的那立约的使者，就要来到！”

你从水中经过，我必与你同在；你渡过河流，水必不漫过你；你在火中行走，必不被烧灼，火焰也烧不着你。

你使人骑在我们的头上；我们曾进入烈火、进入众水，但你又把我们领到那福份满溢之地。

耶和华的使者在旷野的水泉旁，就是书珥路上的水泉旁，找到了夏甲，就问：“撒莱的婢女夏甲，你从哪里来，要到哪里去呢？”夏甲说：“我是从我的主母撒莱面前逃出来的。”耶和华的使者对她说：“回到你的主母那里，服在她的手下吧。”耶和华的使者又对她说：“我将使你的后裔大大增多，多得无法数清。”接着耶和华的使者对她说：“看哪，你怀了孕，将会生一个儿子，你要给他起名为以实玛利，因为耶和华听见了你的苦情。你这儿子为人必像野驴，他的手将与所有的人作对，所有人的手也与他作对，他将与他所有的兄弟对立而居。”夏甲就称那对她说话的耶和华为“你是看顾的神”，因为她说：“我竟然在这里见到了看顾我的那一位！”

道成了肉身，居住在我们中间。我们看到了他的荣耀，正是从父而来的独生子的荣耀，充满了恩典和真理。

那些行政官、总长、省长和王的谋士们都聚集过来，看到这三个人——烈火无力伤他们的身体，他们的头发没有烧焦，他们的长袍没有变化，他们身上也没有火烧的气味。

因肉体软弱的缘故，律法所做不到的，神却做到了——神派遣了自己的儿子成为罪的肉身样式，并且为了赎罪，用肉身判决了罪，

也是救赎我脱离一切祸患的那一位，祝福这两个孩子！愿我的名，我祖父亚伯拉罕和我父以撒的名，藉着他们得以流传；愿他们在地上生养众多。”

他在他们的一切患难中也受患难，并且他面前的使者拯救了他们。他以自己的爱和怜恤救赎了他们，在古时所有的日子里举起他们、背负他们。

耶和华的使者第二次从天上向亚伯拉罕呼唤，说：“耶和华宣告：我指着自己起誓，你既然做了这事，没有留下你的儿子，就是你的独生子，

原来，耶和华的意愿是要压伤他，使他受痛楚。当他把自己的性命作为赎罪祭时，他就必看见后裔，并且年日延绵；耶和华所喜悦的必在他手中兴盛。经历过身心的苦难后，他就必看见光，并且心满意足。“我公义的仆人必使许多人因认识他得称为义，他也必背负他们的罪孽。

耶和华对亚伯兰说：“你要确切知道：你的后裔将在不属于自己的地上寄居，并服事那地的人；那地的人将苦待他们四百年。但我将审判他们所服事的那个国家；此后他们将带着大量的财物出来。至于你，你必平平安安地归到你祖先那里，你必尽享天年，才被安葬。他们到第四代才会回到这里，因为亚摩利人的罪孽还没有满盈。”日落天黑的时候，看哪，有冒烟的火炉和燃烧的火把在这些肉块之间经过！
