上帝照着麦基洗德的模式立祂做大祭司。

你要指派亚伦父子们尽祭司的职分，其他人若走近圣幕，必被处死。”

没有人能自取这大祭司的尊荣，只有像亚伦一样蒙上帝呼召的人才可以做大祭司。同样，基督也没有自取荣耀做大祭司，是上帝对祂说：“你是我的儿子，我今日成为你父亲。”

你们的圣职礼为期七天，这七天之内，你们不可走出会幕门口。

摩西对利未人说：“今天你们已经把自己奉献给耶和华了，因为你们大义灭亲，祂必赐福给你们。”

犹太人在利未祭司制度的基础上承受了律法，如果通过这个祭司制度可以达到纯全，又何必照麦基洗德的模式而不是亚伦的模式，另外兴起一位祭司呢？既然这祭司制度更改了，律法也必须更改。因为这里所说的这位祭司属于别的支派，那支派里从来没有在祭坛前供职的祭司。显然，我们的主基督属于犹大支派，摩西从来没有说这个支派会出祭司。

使他和他的后代凭此约可以永远做祭司，因为他为我除掉了不贞之人，为以色列人赎了罪。”

耶和华又降下烈火，烧死了那二百五十个献香的人。

“你要从以色列百姓当中把你的哥哥亚伦和他四个儿子——拿答、亚比户、以利亚撒和以他玛带到你身边，立他们为祭司事奉我。

因为你们的上帝耶和华从各支派中拣选了利未人，让他们世代奉祂的名事奉。

也要为亚伦的儿子们缝制内袍、腰带、帽子，显出他们职位的荣耀和尊贵。你哥哥亚伦及其众子穿上这些衣服后，你要用油膏立他们，使他们分别出来，做圣洁的祭司事奉我。

让以色列人引以为戒，使亚伦子孙以外的人不致到耶和华面前烧香，以免像可拉及其同伙一样灭亡。这是按照耶和华借摩西的吩咐做的。

以前做祭司的人数极多，但因为受死亡的限制，都不能长久担任圣职。然而，基督永远活着，祂的祭司职位也永不更改。所以祂能拯救那些靠着祂来到上帝面前的人，直到永远，因为祂永远活着，为他们祈求。我们所需要的，正是这样一位圣洁无瑕、良善纯全、远离罪恶、超越诸天的大祭司。祂无需像其他大祭司每天先为自己的罪献祭，然后为百姓的罪献祭，因为祂只一次献上自己的生命，便永远完成了赎罪的工作。根据律法所立的大祭司都有弱点，但律法之后凭誓言所立的大祭司——上帝的儿子永远纯全。
