Then he took the Book of the Covenant and read it to the people. They responded,“ We will do everything the Lord has said; we will obey.”

And he took the book of the covenant, and read in the audience of the people: and they said, All that Jehovah hath spoken will we do, and be obedient.

He then took the covenant scroll and read it aloud to the people. They responded,“ We will do and obey everything that the Lord has commanded.”

摩西下山，將耶和華的命令典章都述說與百姓聽。眾百姓齊聲說：「耶和華所吩咐的，我們都必遵行。」摩西將耶和華的命令都寫上。清早起來，在山下築一座壇，按以色列十二支派立十二根柱子，

以色列眾人來到耶和華－你神所選擇的地方朝見他。那時，你要在以色列眾人面前將這律法念給他們聽。要招聚他們男、女、孩子，並城裏寄居的，使他們聽，使他們學習，好敬畏耶和華－你們的神，謹守、遵行這律法的一切話，也使他們未曾曉得這律法的兒女得以聽見，學習敬畏耶和華－你們的神，在你們過約旦河要得為業之地，存活的日子，常常這樣行。」

所以，前約也不是不用血立的；因為摩西當日照着律法將各樣誡命傳給眾百姓，就拿朱紅色絨和牛膝草，把牛犢山羊的血和水灑在書上，又灑在眾百姓身上，說：「這血就是神與你們立約的憑據。」他又照樣把血灑在帳幕和各樣器皿上。按着律法，凡物差不多都是用血潔淨的；若不流血，罪就不得赦免了。照着天上樣式做的物件必須用這些祭物去潔淨；但那天上的本物自然當用更美的祭物去潔淨。

我只吩咐他們這一件說：『你們當聽從我的話，我就作你們的神，你們也作我的子民。你們行我所吩咐的一切道，就可以得福。』他們卻不聽從，不側耳而聽，竟隨從自己的計謀和頑梗的惡心，向後不向前。

我指着主囑咐你們，要把這信念給眾弟兄聽。

讀完了律法和先知的書，管會堂的叫人過去，對他們說：「二位兄台，若有甚麼勸勉眾人的話，請說。」

你們念了這書信，便交給老底嘉的教會，叫他們也念；你們也要念從老底嘉來的書信。
