離開之前，摩西吩咐長老說：「你們在這裡等候我們回來。亞倫和戶珥跟你們在一起，百姓當中有什麼訴訟的事情，可以交給他們處理。」

摩西对长老说：“你们在这里等着，等到我们再回来，有亚伦、户珥与你们同在。凡有争讼的，都可以就近他们去。”

摩西对长老们说：“你们在这里等我们，直到我们再回到你们这里。看哪，亚伦和户珥与你们同在。谁有诉讼，可以去找他们。”

摩西对长老们说：“你们在这里等我们，直到我们再回到你们这里。看哪，亚伦和户珥与你们同在。谁有诉讼，可以去找他们。”

摩西對長老們說：「你們在這裏等我們，直到我們再回到你們這裏。看哪，亞倫和戶珥與你們同在。誰有訴訟，可以去找他們。」

但摩西對長老說：“你們要在這裡等候我們，直到我們再回到你們那裡來。看哪！這裡有亞倫和戶珥與你們在一起，誰有訴訟的案件，都可以到他們那裡去。”

摩西對長老說：『你們停留在這裏等着我們，直到我們再回到你們這裏來。看哪，這兒有亞倫跟戶珥同你們在一起；誰有案件，都可以找他們去。』

先告諸長老曰、爾曹處此、以待我反、爾有亞倫戶珥同在、有訟者可詣之、

未登之先、告諸長老曰、爾曹處此、待我反、爾有亞倫戶耳在、人有訟事、可往諮諏。

未登之先、謂長老曰、爾曹在此、待我儕返、有亞倫戶珥偕爾、人有訟事、可至其前、

He said to the elders,“ Wait here for us until we come back to you. Aaron and Hur are with you, and anyone involved in a dispute can go to them.”

He said to the elders,“ Wait for us here until we come back to you. Aaron and Hur are with you. Anyone who has a problem can go to them.”

And he said to the elders,“ Wait here for us until we return to you. And behold, Aaron and Hur are with you. Whoever has a dispute, let him go to them.”

Moses told the elders,“ Stay here and wait for us until we come back. Aaron and Hur are here with you. If anyone has a dispute while I am gone, consult with them.”

He told the elders,“ Wait here for us until we return to you. Aaron and Hur are here with you. Whoever has a dispute should go to them.”

But to the elders he said,“ Wait here for us until we return to you. And behold, Aaron and Hur are with you; whoever has a legal matter, have him approach them.”

And he said to the elders,“ Wait here for us until we come back to you. Indeed, Aaron and Hur are with you. If any man has a difficulty, let him go to them.”

And he said unto the elders, Tarry ye here for us, until we come again unto you: and, behold, Aaron and Hur are with you: whosoever hath a cause, let him come near unto them.

He told the elders,“ Wait here for us until we return to you. Aaron and Hur are here with you. Whoever has a dispute should go to them.”

And he said unto the elders, Tarry ye here for us, until we come again unto you: and, behold, Aaron and Hur[ are] with you: if any man have any matters to do, let him come unto them.

He told the elders,“ Wait for us in this place until we return to you. Here are Aaron and Hur with you. Whoever has any matters of dispute can approach them.”

He said to the elders,“ Wait here for us, until we come again to you. Behold, Aaron and Hur are with you. Whoever is involved in a dispute can go to them.”

約書亞便遵照摩西的吩咐迎戰亞瑪力人，摩西、亞倫和戶珥站在山頂上。

不久，摩西的手疲倦發軟，亞倫和戶珥就抬來一塊石頭讓摩西坐下，然後站在他的兩邊扶著他的手，他就穩穩地舉著手，直到日落。

就對僕人說：「你們和驢在這裡等著，我和孩子到那邊敬拜上帝，然後便回來。」

百姓見摩西遲遲沒有下山，就聚集到亞倫那裡，對他說：「領我們離開埃及的那個摩西不知怎樣了，你給我們造神像來帶領我們吧。」

掃羅按著撒母耳所定的日期在吉甲等了七天，可是撒母耳還沒有來。掃羅的軍兵開始溜走。於是，掃羅說：「你們把燔祭和平安祭帶到我這裡來」。他就獻上了燔祭。掃羅剛把燔祭獻完，撒母耳就來了，掃羅出去迎接他，向他問安。撒母耳對掃羅說：「你做的是什麼事？」掃羅答道：「我看見手下的人不斷離我而去，你到了約定的時候還沒有來，而且非利士人就聚集在密抹。我想非利士人就要到吉甲來攻打我們了，但我們還沒有向耶和華求助，我迫不得已，就獻上燔祭了。」撒母耳說：「你真糊塗！你違背了你的上帝耶和華的命令。祂本來要使你的王位在以色列永遠堅立，

你先到吉甲去，在那裡等我七天，我會到那裡獻燔祭和平安祭。我到了以後會告訴你怎麼做。」

從百姓中挑選有才幹的人，委派他們做千夫長、百夫長、五十夫長和十夫長管理百姓。他們負責隨時審理百姓的事，遇到難斷的案件就呈到摩西那裡，自己則審理普通的事。
