And a sojourner shalt thou not oppress: for ye know the heart of a sojourner, seeing ye were sojourners in the land of Egypt.

「困苦貧窮的雇工，無論是你的弟兄，或是住在你境內，在你城裏寄居的，你都不可欺負他。要當日給他工錢，不可等到日落，因為他困苦，需要靠工錢過活，免得他因你的緣故求告耶和華，罪就歸於你了。「不可因兒子處死父親，也不可因父親處死兒子；各人要因自己的罪被處死。「不可對寄居的和孤兒屈枉正直，也不可拿寡婦的衣服作抵押。要記得你曾在埃及作過奴僕，耶和華－你的神從那裏救贖了你，所以我吩咐你遵行這事。

所以你們要愛護寄居的，因為你們在埃及地也作過寄居的。

所以，他凡事應當與他的弟兄相同，為要在神的事上成為慈悲忠信的大祭司，為百姓的罪獻上贖罪祭。既然他自己被試探而受苦，他能幫助被試探的人。

若能撐過一兩天，主人就不必受懲罰，因為那是他的財產。

你那裏有輕慢父母的，在你當中有欺壓寄居者的，你那裏也有虧負孤兒寡婦的。
