他們的寡婦在我面前比海沙更多；我使滅命者在正午來到，攻擊年輕人的母親，使痛苦驚嚇忽然臨到她身上。

求你將你的惱恨倒在他們身上，使你的烈怒追上他們。

誰曉得你怒氣的權勢？誰因着敬畏你而曉得你的憤怒呢？

因此，願他們的兒女忍受饑荒，願他們死於刀劍之手；願他們的妻無子，且作寡婦，願他們的男人被死亡所滅，他們的壯丁在陣上被刀擊殺。

他發憤恨，誰能立得住呢？他發烈怒，誰能當得起呢？他的憤怒如火傾洩而出，磐石因他崩裂。

你竟放任你剛硬不悔改的心，為自己累積憤怒！在憤怒的日子，神公義的審判要顯示出來。他要照各人的行為報應各人。凡恆心行善，尋求榮耀、尊貴和不能朽壞的，就有永生報償他們；但是那些自私自利、不順從真理、反順從不義的人，就有惱恨、憤怒報應他們。他要把患難、困苦加給一切作惡的人，先是猶太人，後是希臘人；

壯丁被火燒滅，童女也無婚禮頌歌。祭司倒在刀下，寡婦卻不哀哭。

你們要給人，就必有給你們的，並且用十足的升斗，連搖帶按，上尖下流地倒在你們懷裏；因為你們用甚麼量器量給人，也必用甚麼量器量給你們。」

你，惟獨你是可畏的！你的怒氣一發，誰能在你面前站得住呢？

落在永生神的手裏真是可怕呀！

因神降的災禍使我恐懼，因他的威嚴，我甚麼都不能。

「這是神為惡人所定的份，殘暴人從全能者所得的產業：倘若他的兒女增多，仍被刀所殺；他的子孫必不得飽食。他遺留的人必死而埋葬，他的寡婦也不哀哭。
