撒該站着對主說：「主啊，我把所有的一半給窮人；我若勒索了誰，就還他四倍。」

但若被抓到，要賠償七倍，他必賠上家中一切財物。

耶和華吩咐摩西說：「若有人犯罪，得罪了耶和華，就是在鄰舍寄託他的東西或抵押品上行詭詐，或搶奪，或欺壓鄰舍，或是撿了失物行了詭詐，起了假誓，在人所做的任何事上犯了罪；他既犯了罪，有了過犯，就要歸還他所搶奪的，或是因欺壓所得的，或是別人寄託他的，或是他所撿到的失物，或是起假誓得來的任何東西，就要全數歸還，另外再加五分之一。在查出他有罪的日子，就要立刻賠還給原主。他要獻羊羣中一隻沒有殘疾的公綿羊，給耶和華為贖愆祭，或照你所估定的價值，給祭司作贖愆祭。

沒有牛，槽就空空；土產豐盛卻憑牛的力氣。

他要承認所犯的罪，將所虧負人的如數賠償，另外再加五分之一，交給所虧負的人。
