“ You shall not make for yourself an image in the form of anything in heaven above or on the earth beneath or in the waters below.

“ Do not make for yourself statues of gods that look like anything in the sky. They may not look like anything on the earth or in the waters either.

“ You shall not make for yourself a carved image, or any likeness of anything that is in heaven above, or that is in the earth beneath, or that is in the water under the earth.

“ You must not make for yourself an idol of any kind or an image of anything in the heavens or on the earth or in the sea.

Do not make an idol for yourself, whether in the shape of anything in the heavens above or on the earth below or in the waters under the earth.

“ You shall not make for yourself an idol, or any likeness of what is in heaven above or on the earth beneath, or in the water under the earth.

Thou shalt not make unto thee a graven image, nor any likeness of any thing that is in heaven above, or that is in the earth beneath, or that is in the water under the earth.

凡人雕偶鑄像、匠人所造、乃耶和華所惡、立於隱處者、必受詛、眾民當應曰、阿們、

凡奉雕像、以虛無自誇者、願其蒙羞、爾諸神歟、敬拜上帝兮、

既為上帝裔、則不當意其性質如金銀石、為人工機巧雕琢者、

勿崇假神、勿鑄偶像、我乃耶和華、爾之上帝也、

勿雕偶像、勿造上天下地、地下水中、百物之像、

凡作偶像者、必蒙羞恥、同懷愧怍、

彼皆冥頑無知、偶像之道、惟木而已、有銀運自他施、擣之成片、有金至自烏法、金匠製之、有藍紫之布為衣、悉屬巧工所製、

人皆冥頑無知、金匠因其雕像而羞慚、所鑄之像、乃為虛偽、內無氣息、悉屬虛無、惑人之工、譴責之際、俱必滅亡、雅各之業非若是、彼造萬物、以色列為其嗣業之族、萬軍之耶和華、乃其名也、○

其一遂往、傾盂於地、即成惡毒之瘍、生於受獸印誌、及拜其像者、○

以不朽上帝之榮、而易以必朽之人、及禽獸昆蟲之狀、○

我入而觀、見有各類昆蟲、與可惡之獸、及以色列家諸偶像、繪於四壁、

異邦偶像、乃銀乃金、人手所造、有口不言、有目不見、有耳不聞、有鼻不嗅、有手不挈、有足不行、喉不出言兮、造之者、賴之者、必似之兮、

又有第三使者從之、大聲曰、如有拜獸與其像、及受印誌於額或於手者、則必飲上帝恚怒之酒、純然無雜、酌於恚怒之杯者、又將於聖使及羔前、受火與硫之痛苦、其痛苦之煙上騰、以至世世、凡拜獸與其像、及受其名之印誌者、晝夜無憩息也、

爾當謹慎、免忘爾上帝耶和華與爾所立之約、為己雕偶、仿其所禁諸物之像、蓋爾上帝耶和華乃烈火、忌邪之上帝、○厥後、爾久居斯土、生子生孫、如其自敗、依像雕偶、作惡於爾上帝耶和華前、以激其怒、

爾所知也、此保羅勸導多人、使之轉移、謂手所作者非神、不第於以弗所、亦幾徧亞西亞、爾亦聞且見之矣、如是、不特我業危殆、為人所輕、即大女神亞底米之殿、亦歸烏有、且徧亞西亞、及天下所拜者、其顯赫將黜矣、眾聞之、怒甚、呼曰、大哉、以弗所人之亞底米也、舉邑擾攘、執保羅之同行者、馬其頓人、該猶、亞里達古、同心擁入劇場、保羅欲入見眾、門徒不許、亞西亞官長數人、保羅友也、亦遣人勸之、勿冒險而入、因羣眾紛亂、喧譁不一、強半不知何為而集也、猶太人簇擁亞力山大、或曳之出眾前、亞力山大、搖手欲自訴於民、眾識其為猶太人、同聲呼曰、大哉、以弗所人之亞底米也、如此者、約一時、司書撫眾曰、以弗所人乎、孰不知我邑、乃守大亞底米殿、及自丟斯所降之像者乎、

凡恃雕像、對鑄像云、爾為我神、必皆退而愧怍、○

我為耶和華、此我名也、不以我之榮光畀他神、不以我之聲譽付雕像、

造雕像者、悉為虛妄、其所悅者無益、彼之證者不見不知、必致愧怍、誰造神像、或鑄無益之偶、凡宗之者、咸生愧赧、造之之工、世人而已、任其聚會、屹立於此、必同戰慄、而慚恧焉、鐵工熾炭鍛之、以鎚治之、竭一臂之力、而製造之、飢而疲乏、渴而困憊、木工布繩、畫之以筆、治之以鐋、正之以規、象人之形、猶人之美、處之於室、更伐香柏、亦取橡櫟、皆林木之堅者、或植杉木、得雨露之養、人取之為薪、用之暖體、燃之烘餅、或以之作神像、而崇拜之、雕偶像、而俯伏於其前、半以燃火、半以炙肉、食之果腹、復暖其身、曰、噫、我既溫暖、亦既觀火、尚有餘木、用之造神、以為雕像、俯伏拜之、禱曰、爾其救予、蓋爾為我神也、維彼不知不思、其目障翳不見、其心蒙蔽不明、無人想念、無知識、無聰明、不云材木之半、我已焚之以火、烘餅於炭、半以炙肉食之、豈可用其餘者、而作可憎之物、俯伏以拜木榦乎、彼乃食灰、中心昏迷、使之離途、弗能自救、不知自言、我之右手所執、非虛誕乎、○

爾以誰譬我、俾能相若、以誰擬我、而得從同、人傾囊出金、權衡其銀、僱厥金工、以鑄神像、俯伏而拜、荷之於肩、攜之而往、置諸其所、使之屹立、不離其處、人或呼之、而不能應、不能拯人於難、○爾悖逆者、當記憶之、顯為丈夫、而追念焉、

如是、爾曹以誰比上帝、以何象像之、工鑄偶像、金工包之以金、為製銀鏈、惟彼貧乏、不能取此以獻、則選不朽之木、而覓巧工、俾作雕像、堅立不移、

其餘未死於此災者、不悔其手之所為、仍拜諸鬼與金銀銅木石之偶、乃不能見不能聞不能行者也、

列邦之例虛偽、有人由林伐木、匠人以斧製之、以銀與金飾之、以鎚與釘釘之、使不動搖、依椶樹之形鏇之、彼不能言、亦不能行、須人舁之、不能作惡、無能行善、爾勿畏之、

異邦偶像、乃銀乃金、人手所造、有口不言、有目不見、有耳不聞、有口無氣、造之者、賴之者、必似之兮、

王既籌思、乃作金犢二、告民曰、爾曹上耶路撒冷甚難、以色列人歟、導爾出埃及之神即此、

又置所造雕像於上帝室、昔上帝諭大衛、及其子所羅門曰、此室及耶路撒冷、乃我於以色列支派中所簡者、必永寄我名於其中、

因所予行於獸前之兆、以惑宅地之人、告之宜造刃傷仍生之獸像、又予之權、使以生氣賦於像、使之能言、且令凡不拜獸像者見殺、

彼謂我曰、爾其為我造神像、以為我之先導、蓋率我出埃及之摩西、不知其何所遇矣、

我所諭之道、彼速違之、鑄犢崇拜祭祀、曰以色列人歟、此即導爾出埃及之神也、

民見摩西遲迴於山不下、則集於亞倫前曰、爾其為我造神像、以為我之先導、蓋率我出埃及之摩西、不知其何所遇矣、
