這個王用詭計待我們的民族，苦害我們的祖宗，強令他們丟棄嬰兒，不讓存活。

法老吩咐他的眾民說：『希伯來人所生的男兒，你們都要丟在河裏；一切女兒，你們都要讓她活着。』

你要用松柏木造一隻樓船：你造那樓船、要有許多艙窩，船內外要糊上松香。

他們回去以後，忽有主的一個使者向約瑟夢中顯現說：『起來，帶着小孩子和他母親，逃往埃及去，在那裏我吩咐你怎樣作；因為希律將要尋找小孩子來殺滅他。』

他們彼此商量說：『來吧！我們作磚，給燒透了。』他們就拿磚當石頭，又拿石漆當灰泥。

希律見自己被占星家愚弄了，就極其惱怒，便差遣人將伯利恆裏面和全境界所有的男孩子，照他向占星家仔細查問得到的時候，從兩歲和以下的都殺掉了。

那差遣大使在水面上坐蒲草艇泛江海的！輕快的使者啊，你們去吧！去見一國之民、身又長膚又潤的，去見一族之民、遠近所畏懼的，去見一國之民、勢力強大，常蹂躪敵國的；他們的地有江河給截為兩半。

江河支流必變臭，埃及尼羅河溝的水必降低，而旱竭；荻子和蘆葦都必枯爛。

西訂山谷有許多石漆坑；所多瑪王和蛾摩拉王逃跑，有掉在坑裏的，其餘的人都往山上逃跑。
