摩西听了这话，就逃到米甸寄居，在那里成家，生了两个儿子。

黄昏，妇女们出来打水的时候，他让骆驼跪在城外的井旁，

看见田间有一口井，有三群羊卧在井边，因为当地人用那口井的水饮羊。井口盖着一块大石头。

他凭信心离开埃及，不怕王的愤怒。他坚忍不拔，好像看见了肉眼不能看见的主。

雅各井就在那个地方。耶稣走路疲乏，坐在井旁休息。那时是中午时分，

如果你们在一个地方遭迫害，就避到另一个地方。我实在告诉你们，没等你们走遍以色列的城镇，人子就来了。

明哲人遇祸躲避，愚昧人前往受害。

亚哈把以利亚做的一切事以及他怎样杀掉所有巴力先知的经过，都告诉了耶洗别，耶洗别就派人去告诉以利亚，说：“明天这个时候，我若不使你像那些人一样丧命，愿神明重重地惩罚我。”以利亚很害怕，连忙逃命，来到犹大的别示巴。他让仆人留在那里，

以利亚听见后，就用外袍蒙着脸出去站在洞口。那声音问他：“以利亚，你在这里做什么？”以利亚回答说：“我一向热心事奉万军之上帝耶和华。但以色列人背弃你的约，拆毁你的祭坛，残杀你的先知。现在只剩下我一个人，他们还要杀我。”

约雅敬王和他的王公大臣听见乌利亚的话，就想处死他。乌利亚得知后，吓得逃到埃及去了。约雅敬王便派亚革波的儿子以利拿单率随从去埃及捉拿他。他们把乌利亚从埃及押到约雅敬王面前，王用刀杀了他，把尸首抛在平民的坟地中。

基土拉为亚伯拉罕生了心兰、约珊、米但、米甸、伊施巴和书亚。

以扫看见父亲给雅各祝福，让他到巴旦·亚兰娶妻，叮嘱他不要娶迦南的女子，又看见雅各听从父母到巴旦·亚兰去了，

米甸的儿子是以法、以弗、哈诺、亚比大和以勒大。这些都是基土拉的子孙。

耶和华在米甸对摩西说：“你只管放心回埃及去，想害你性命的人都已经死了。”
