Mount Sinai was covered with smoke, because the Lord descended on it in fire. The smoke billowed up from it like smoke from a furnace, and the whole mountain trembled violently.

Smoke covered Mount Sinai, because the Lord came down on it in fire. The smoke rose up from it like smoke from a furnace. The whole mountain trembled and shook.

Now Mount Sinai was wrapped in smoke because the Lord had descended on it in fire. The smoke of it went up like the smoke of a kiln, and the whole mountain trembled greatly.

耶和華之使、於棘火焰中顯現。摩西見棘焚而不燬、

耶和華兮、爾擘天雲而臨格、履山岡而燄起兮、

爰上帝尊榮權力、殿中烟燄四塞、七使降七災未畢、無有能入殿者、

上帝兮、昔爾導民、行於曠野、地震天漏、西乃搖撼、在以色列族之上帝前兮、

其榮光狀如火焰、顯於山巔、以色列族無不目擊。

一睹其地、地基震動、一履其山、山岡燄起兮。

望所多馬蛾摩拉、與平原一境、則見烟焰騰上、如出洪爐。

以上諸言、耶和華山上火中、幽深玄遠之處、以大聲諭眾、無所增益、勒於二碑、賜之於我。

山巒變動、

曰、耶和華至自西乃、顯自西耳、光自巴蘭、偕萬聖而來、由其右手火出為法。

日入幽暗、時有烟燄之洪爐、已燃之明燈、由牲牷中而過、

當時其聞震地、今且曰於後、吾不第震地、又必震天、

聲震門橛、一室之中、烟燄四塞。

曰、當出立於山岡、在於我前、斯時耶和華過焉。在其前有風、勢大而猛、裂山破石。耶和華不御風而至。風後地震、地震之際、耶和華亦不降臨。厥後有火、耶和華亦不與火偕來、火後有聲、細而不揚。

所羅門祈禱既畢、火自天降、燬其燔祭禮物、耶和華榮光充盈殿宇、因是祭司不得入耶和華殿、以色列族眾見火降、亦見耶和華榮光覆殿、則俯伏於鋪花石處、崇拜頌讚耶和華、曰、耶和華無不善、恆懷矜憫。

不識上帝、不服吾主耶穌基督福音者、以火爇而譴責之、

斯山之谷、延及亞薩、爾將逃避於彼、若在猶大王烏西亞時、人因地震、遁逃於外、蓋我之上帝耶和華、偕諸聖者、必將涖臨、

民將攻民、國亦攻國、饑疫地震、隨在皆然、

主日將至、猶盜乘夜而來、當時大聲一呼、而天為之崩、有形色者悉焚燬、地與造作之物、無不被爇、

在彼之前、岡嶺震動、山巒頓失、大地墳起、世人殞亡、厥怒奮發、若山巔出火、孰能自立、厥氣憤烈、若磐巖崩裂、孰能得生、

其時、爾眾來前、立於山下、其山之象幽深立遠、厥火炎炎、至凌霄漢。耶和華由火中諭爾、惟聞其聲、不睹其像、

雅各之上帝耶和華、以磐為沼、以石為泉、大地亦必震動於其前兮。

不以手執、必矢石攻擊、無論人畜、命莫能逃、迨角聲清越、始可登山。

狂飆飄颻、霹靂震轟、寰宇輝光、大地搖撼兮、

民見雷迅電閃、角鳴烟障、則畏避遙立、

爾所至者、非有形之山、在彼火焰靉靆、幽暗暴風、
