接着，祂对众人说：“你们要小心防范一切的贪心，因为人的生命并不在于家道富足。”

其实摩西为人十分谦和，比世上任何人都谦和。

“不要为自己在世上积攒财宝，世上有虫子咬，会生锈，又有贼闯进来偷。

要变卖你们的家产去周济穷人，要为自己预备永不破损的钱袋，在天上积攒取之不尽的财宝，那里没有贼偷，也没有虫蛀。

摩西非常愤怒，就对耶和华说：“求你不要接纳他们的祭物。我没有取过他们一头驴，也没有害过他们任何人。”

不要贪爱钱财，要对自己拥有的知足，因为上帝说过：“我永不撇下你，也不离弃你。”

耶稣看见后很生气，对门徒说：“让小孩子到我这里来，不要阻止他们，因为上帝的国属于这样的人。

不要因生气而犯罪，不要到日落时还怒气未消，

耶稣生气地看着四周这些人，为他们的心刚硬而感到极其难过。祂对那人说：“把手伸出来！”那人一伸手，手就立刻复原了。

你们的财物朽坏了，衣服也被虫蛀了。你们的金银生了锈，那锈必要指控你们，像火一样吞噬你们的身体。在末世的日子里，你们只知道积攒财宝。
