When the Israelites saw it, they said to each other,“ What is it?” For they did not know what it was. Moses said to them,“ It is the bread the Lord has given you to eat.

The people of Israel saw the flakes. They asked each other,“ What’s that?” They didn’t know what it was. Moses said to them,“ It’s the bread the Lord has given you to eat.

Then the Lord said to Moses,“ I will rain down bread from heaven for you. The people are to go out each day and gather enough for that day. In this way I will test them and see whether they will follow my instructions. (niv)

He humbled you, causing you to hunger and then feeding you with manna, which neither you nor your ancestors had known, to teach you that man does not live on bread alone but on every word that comes from the mouth of the Lord. (niv)

The people of Israel called the bread manna. It was white like coriander seed and tasted like wafers made with honey. (niv)

They all ate the same spiritual food (niv)

The manna stopped the day after they ate this food from the land; there was no longer any manna for the Israelites, but that year they ate the produce of Canaan. (niv)

Our ancestors ate the manna in the wilderness; as it is written:‘ He gave them bread from heaven to eat.’”Jesus said to them,“ Very truly I tell you, it is not Moses who has given you the bread from heaven, but it is my Father who gives you the true bread from heaven. (niv)

You gave your good Spirit to instruct them. You did not withhold your manna from their mouths, and you gave them water for their thirst. (niv)

For the pagan world runs after all such things, and your Father knows that you need them. (niv)

So Moses said to Aaron,“ Take a jar and put an omer of manna in it. Then place it before the Lord to be kept for the generations to come.” (niv)

He gave you manna to eat in the wilderness, something your ancestors had never known, to humble and test you so that in the end it might go well with you. (niv)

Whoever has ears, let them hear what the Spirit says to the churches. To the one who is victorious, I will give some of the hidden manna. I will also give that person a white stone with a new name written on it, known only to the one who receives it. (niv)

which had the golden altar of incense and the gold-covered ark of the covenant. This ark contained the gold jar of manna, Aaron’s staff that had budded, and the stone tablets of the covenant. (niv)
