求你記念你在古時買贖的會眾，就是你贖回作你產業的民族；求你記念你所居住的錫安山。

對他們二人說：“我知道耶和華已經把這地賜給你們了，你們使我們十分害怕，這地所有的居民都在你們面前膽戰心驚。

就在今天，我要使天下萬民聽見你的消息都驚慌懼怕，而且因你的緣故發抖疼痛。’

到了早晨，拿八酒醒了，他的妻子才把這些事告訴他，他就嚇得魂不附體，立刻中風癱瘓了。

必沒有一人能在你們面前站立得住；耶和華你們的神，必照著他對你們所說的，使害怕和驚懼你們的心臨到你們將要踏足之地的居民。

他為我們捨己，為的是要救贖我們脫離一切不法的事，並且潔淨我們作他自己的子民，熱心善工。

因為耶和華買贖了雅各，從比他更強的人手中把他救贖了出來。

從前在人民中，曾有假先知出來；照樣，將來在你們中間，也必有假教師出現。他們偷偷把使人滅亡的異端引進來，甚至否認那曾經買贖他們的主，迅速地自取滅亡。

然而你們是蒙揀選的族類，是君尊的祭司，是聖潔的國民，是屬神的子民，為要叫你們宣揚那召你們出黑暗入奇妙光明者的美德。

耶和華必保護虔誠人的腳步，卻使惡人在黑暗中滅亡，因為人得勝不是靠著力量。

但是對於所有的以色列人，無論是人或是牲畜，連狗也不敢向他們叫吠；為要使你們知道耶和華是把埃及人和以色列人分別出來的’。

現在你們若是實在聽我的話，遵守我的約，你們就必在萬民中作屬我的產業，因為全地都是我的。你們要歸我作君尊的祭司和聖潔的國民。’這些話你都要對以色列人說。”

使海，就是大淵的水乾涸，使海的深處變為蒙救贖的人經過之路的，不是你嗎？

但耶和華的分就是他的子民，他的產業就是雅各。

世上有哪一個國家像你的子民以色列呢？神曾親自救贖他們，使他們作自己的子民，又為他自己立名，為他們(按照《馬索拉文本》，「他們」作「你們」；現參照其他抄本及古譯本翻譯)作了大事，為你的地作了可畏的事；在你的子民面前，就是你從埃及救贖出來歸你自己的子民面前，趕出了列國的人和他們的神。

但是，雅各啊！那創造你的耶和華，以色列啊！那塑造你的主，現在這樣說：“不要懼怕，因為我救贖了你；我按著你的名呼召了你；你是屬我的。你從水中經過的時候，我必與你同在；你渡過江河的時候，水必不淹沒你；你從火中行走的時候，必不會燒傷；火燄也不會在你身上燒起來。因為我是耶和華你的神，是以色列的聖者，你的拯救者；我使埃及作你的贖價，使古實和示巴作你的替身。

聖靈既然立你們為全群的監督，牧養神用自己的血所贖來的教會，你們就應當為自己謹慎，也為全群謹慎。

我必在你面前展露我的威嚴；凡你所到的地方，我必使那裡的人民慌亂，又使你所有的仇敵都轉背而逃。

愚昧無知的人民哪，你們這樣報答耶和華嗎？他不是你的父，不是把你買回來的嗎？他造了你，建立了你。
