When the king of Egypt was told that the people had fled, Pharaoh and his officials changed their minds about them and said,“ What have we done? We have let the Israelites go and have lost their services!”

The king of Egypt was told that the people had escaped. Then Pharaoh and his officials changed their minds about them. They said,“ What have we done? We’ve let the people of Israel go! We’ve lost our slaves and all the work they used to do for us!”

When the king of Egypt was told that the people had fled, the mind of Pharaoh and his servants was changed toward the people, and they said,“ What is this we have done, that we have let Israel go from serving us?”

When word reached the king of Egypt that the Israelites had fled, Pharaoh and his officials changed their minds.“ What have we done, letting all those Israelite slaves get away?” they asked.

他改变敌人的心去憎恨他的子民，用诡诈待他的众仆人。

如果他们因为认识我们的主、救主耶稣基督，可以脱离世上的污秽，后来又在其中被缠住、受制伏，他们末了的景况，就比先前的更不好了。既然认识了义路，竟又背弃传给他们的圣诫命，对他们来说，倒不如不认识好得多了。他们的情形，正像俗语所说的：“狗转过来，又吃自己所吐的；猪洗净了，又到污泥中去打滚。”

“一个污灵离开了一个人，走遍干旱之地，寻找栖身的地方，却没有找到，就说：‘我要回到我从前离开了的那房子。’到了之后，看见里面已经打扫干净，粉饰好了，他就去带了另外七个比自己更恶的污灵来，进去住在那里；那人后来的情况，比以前更坏了。”

所有立了约的领袖和众民都同意释放各人自己的奴婢，谁也不再使他们作奴仆。他们都同意了，并且把奴婢释放了。但后来他们反悔，把他们释放了的奴婢叫回来，强迫他们再作奴婢。于是耶和华有话临到耶利米，说：“耶和华以色列的神这样说：‘我把你们的列祖从埃及地为奴之家领出来的那日子，就和他们立了约，说：“一个希伯来兄弟卖了身给你，服事了你六年，到第七年，你们各人就应释放他，容他自由离去。”但你们的列祖不听从我，毫不在意。现今你们悔改，行我眼中看为正的事，各人向自己的同胞宣告自由，并且在称为我名下的殿中，在我面前立了约。你们却又反悔，亵渎我的名；各人把得了释放随意离去的奴婢叫回来，强迫他们再作奴婢。’“所以，耶和华这样说：‘你们各人没有听从我，向兄弟、同胞宣告自由；看哪！我现在向你们宣告自由，容让你们遭受刀剑、瘟疫和饥荒，使你们成为地上万国所惊惧的。’这是耶和华的宣告。

埃及人催促以色列人，要他们赶快离开此地，因为他们说：“我们都要死了。”
