我要使法老的心刚硬，他要追赶他们，我便在法老和他全军身上得荣耀；埃及人就知道我是耶和华。”于是以色列人这样行了。

我必使之剛愎厥心、追襲於後、我將獲榮於法老、及其軍旅、俾埃及人知我為耶和華、以色列人遂如是行、

法老剛愎厥心、追襲爾後、我姑聽之、迨殲法老、覆其軍、以獲大榮、使埃及人知行是事者、我耶和華也。以色列族遵命而行。○

我使法老剛愎其心、追以色列人、我則因法老與其全軍而獲大榮、俾伊及人知我乃主、以色列人遂如此行、

And I will harden Pharaoh’s heart, and he will pursue them. But I will gain glory for myself through Pharaoh and all his army, and the Egyptians will know that I am the Lord.” So the Israelites did this.

I will make Pharaoh stubborn. He will chase them. But I will gain glory for myself because of what will happen to Pharaoh and his whole army. And the Egyptians will know that I am the Lord.” So the Israelites camped by the Red Sea.

And I will harden Pharaoh’s heart, and he will pursue them, and I will get glory over Pharaoh and all his host, and the Egyptians shall know that I am the Lord.” And they did so.

And once again I will harden Pharaoh’s heart, and he will chase after you. I have planned this in order to display my glory through Pharaoh and his whole army. After this the Egyptians will know that I am the Lord!” So the Israelites camped there as they were told.

但如果神想要顯出他的震怒，顯明他的能力，就以極大的耐心容忍那些承受震怒的器皿，就是他早已預備要歸於滅亡的器皿，那又怎麼樣呢？再者，如果這是為要將他那榮耀的豐盛顯明在這些得蒙憐憫的器皿，就是他早已預備要歸於榮耀的器皿上，那又怎麼樣呢？

原來經上有話對法老說：「我興起你，正是為此：好讓我藉著你來顯出我的大能，使我的名傳遍天下。」

開口說：「這大巴比倫，難道不是我以自己的權能力量建為國都，為要顯出我威嚴的尊榮嗎？」這話還在王的口中，就有聲音從天上降下，說：「尼布甲尼撒王啊，這是對你的宣告：你的國權從你那裡被移除了！你必從人間被趕出，你的住處必與田野的走獸在一起；你必像牛那樣吃牧草，讓七個時期從你流過，直到你明白：至高者在人的國中掌權，他願意把國賜給誰就賜給誰。」這話立刻就應驗在尼布甲尼撒身上；他從人間被趕出，像牛那樣吃牧草，身體被天上的露水濕透，直到他的頭髮長得像鷹的羽毛，指甲長得像鳥的爪子。那些日子結束了，我尼布甲尼撒舉目望天，我的理智回到我身上。我就頌讚至高者，稱讚、尊崇永遠活著的那一位——他的權柄是永遠的權柄，他的國度世世代代長存！地上所有的居民都算為無有，他照著自己的旨意對待天上的眾軍和地上的居民。沒有人能攔住他的手，或對他說：「你做什麼？」——當時，我的理智回到我身上；為了我國家的尊榮，我的威嚴、我的光輝也回到我身上。我的謀士們、我的大臣們又來尋求我，我的國權重新堅立，超卓的權勢也加增給我。如今我尼布甲尼撒稱讚、高舉、尊崇天上的王，因為他一切的作為都是確實的，一切的道路都是公正的，他能使行事驕傲的人降卑。

這些事以後，我聽見天上有大聲音，好像一大群人的聲音，說：「哈利路亞！救恩、榮耀、權能都屬於我們的神！因為他的審判是真實的、公義的，因為他審判了那用自己的淫亂敗壞大地的大淫婦，並且為他奴僕們的血，向那淫婦討回了公道。」他們第二次說：「哈利路亞！焚燒她時的煙往上冒，直到永永遠遠！」二十四位長老和四個活物就俯伏敬拜那坐在寶座上的神，說：「阿們！哈利路亞！」隨後，有聲音從寶座上傳來，說：「神所有的奴僕們哪，所有敬畏他的，無論卑微尊貴，你們要讚美我們的神！」接著，我聽見好像一大群人的聲音，也像眾水的聲音，又像大雷鳴的聲音，說：「哈利路亞！因為我們的主、神、全能者做王了！

到那日，人眼目的高慢必成卑賤，人的高傲也必會降卑，唯獨耶和華被高舉。因為必有萬軍之耶和華的一個日子，臨到所有傲慢高傲的和所有自高的，使他們成為卑賤；

正如經上所記：「神給了他們昏迷的心靈、看不見的眼睛、聽不見的耳朵，直到今天。」
