這是耶穌所行的第一件神蹟，是在加利利的迦拿行的。他顯出了自己的榮耀，他的門徒就信了他。

有許多到馬利亞那裡去的猶太人，看見了耶穌所作的事，就信了他。

耶穌在耶路撒冷過逾越節的時候，許多人看見他所行的神蹟，就信了他的名。耶穌卻不信任他們，因為他知道所有的人，也不需要誰指證人是怎樣的，因為他知道人心裡存的是甚麼。

那落在石頭地上的，就是人聽了，歡歡喜喜地接受，但是沒有根，不過是暫時相信，一旦遭遇試煉，就倒退了。

耶穌說這些話的時候，就有許多人信了他。於是耶穌對信了他的猶太人說：“你們若持守我的道，就真是我的門徒了；你們必定認識真理，真理必定使你們自由。”

耶和華對摩西說：“看哪，我要在密雲中降臨到你那裡，為要使人民在我與你說話的時候可以聽見，也可以永遠信你。”於是，摩西把人民的話告訴了耶和華。

我因懼怕你而戰慄；我畏懼你的審判。

第二天早晨，眾人清早起來，出發到提哥亞的曠野去；他們正出去的時候，約沙法站起來，說：“猶大人和耶路撒冷的居民哪，你們要聽我的話；信靠耶和華你們的神，你們就必堅立；信靠他的先知，你們就必亨通。”

那時他們才相信他的話，唱歌讚美他。可是他們很快就忘記了他的作為，不仰望他的意旨，

人民就相信了；他們聽見耶和華眷顧以色列人，也鑒察了他們的痛苦，就俯伏敬拜。

於是撒母耳向耶和華呼求，耶和華就在那天打雷降雨，眾民就非常懼怕耶和華和撒母耳。

連西門自己也信了，他受洗之後，常和腓利在一起，看見所發生的神蹟和大能的事，就覺得很驚奇。
