全体民众都回答说：“他的血归在我们和我们儿女的身上！”

这一位照着神设定的计划和先见被交出去；你们就藉着外邦人的手，把他钉上十字架杀了。

一到清晨，祭司长们就与长老们、经文士们以及全议会的人商议对策，然后把耶稣捆起来带走，交给彼拉多。

在上午九点，他们把耶稣钉上了十字架。

下午三点左右，耶稣大声呼叫：“以利，以利！拉玛撒巴克达尼？”——这意思是：“我的神，我的神！你为什么离弃我？”站在那里的一些人听见了，就说：“这个人在呼唤以利亚呢！”其中有一个人立刻跑去，拿了海绵蘸满了酸酒，套在芦苇上，要给他喝。其他的人说：“等着吧，我们看以利亚会不会来救他。”耶稣又大喊一声，就交出了灵魂。

到了中午十二点，黑暗笼罩了整个大地，一直到下午三点。下午三点，耶稣大声呼喊：“以罗伊，以罗伊！拉玛撒巴克达尼？”——这翻译出来就是“我的神，我的神！你为什么离弃我？”

但是，祭司长们煽动众人，宁愿要彼拉多给他们释放巴拉巴。

我们全都如羊迷失，各人偏行己路；耶和华却使我们众人的罪孽都落在他身上。

你们拒绝了神圣、公义的那一位，而要求释放一个杀人犯给你们。
