At midnight the Lord struck down all the firstborn in Egypt, from the firstborn of Pharaoh, who sat on the throne, to the firstborn of the prisoner, who was in the dungeon, and the firstborn of all the livestock as well.

At midnight the Lord struck down every oldest son in Egypt. He killed the oldest son of Pharaoh, who sat on the throne. He killed all the oldest sons of prisoners. He also killed all the male animals born first to their mothers among the livestock.

我命爾云、當釋我子去、使其往事我、爾若不釋之往、我必殺爾長子、○

在伊及國誅一切冢子、在含之帷幕戮其長男、

在伊及地擊殺其初生之人、始產之畜、

擊殺伊及人之諸長子、主之恩慈、永遠常存、

主擊其境內之一切長子、誅其強壯時首生之男、

摩西又謂法老曰、主如是云、夜半、我必出巡行伊及凡伊及地所有長子、自居王位法老之長子、至磨後婢女之長子、以及首生之牲畜、悉必死亡、

蓋以色列中一切首生者、無論人畜、悉歸於我、昔我在伊及地戮諸長子時、以首生者、區別為聖歸於我、

是時、伊及人正葬其長子、因主殺其一切長子、亦敗其諸神、

當是夕、我必巡行伊及地、擊伊及地諸長子、與牲畜所首生者、亦毀伊及人所拜之群神、我乃主也、

亦能使人俄頃死亡、使民中夜震動而逝、有勢者見除、並不假手於人、

法老剛愎、不釋我儕、主以伊及國凡一切首生者、自首生之人、至首生之畜、皆殺之、故我以首生之牡畜祭主、惟初胎之男子則贖之、

一切首生、原歸於我、昔我在伊及地殺首生之時、即以以色列中首生者、無論人畜、區別為聖歸於我、我乃主、○

惟爾也、因我與爾所立之約之血、我釋爾被囚者、出於無水之阱、或作爾之俘囚我亦必因爾立約之血自無水之坑中釋而出之

屈身於縲絏中者、必速得釋、不死於囹圄、不致缺食、

彼有信、則設逾越節、行灑血之禮、免滅伊及長子者、害及以色列人、

蓋爾曹詳知主日將至、如盜之乘夜而來、人適平康安泰之時、而禍突臨、如產難臨於妊婦、必不得免、

眾遂以耶利米下於哈米勒子瑪勒家坑中、即在獄院、以繩縋之下、坑無水、惟有淤泥、耶利米遂沈入於泥中、

次日、主果行是事、伊及之群畜盡斃、惟以色列人之牲畜、無一斃者、

皆被聚集、囚於獄、禁於牢、多日之後、更受刑罰、

有名錄於天諸長子之會、有審判眾人之天主、有義人得全者之靈、

眾以繩曳耶利米、自坑中而上、於是耶利米仍居獄院、
