At midnight the Lord struck down all the firstborn in Egypt, from the firstborn of Pharaoh, who sat on the throne, to the firstborn of the prisoner, who was in the dungeon, and the firstborn of all the livestock as well.

At midnight the Lord struck down every oldest son in Egypt. He killed the oldest son of Pharaoh, who sat on the throne. He killed all the oldest sons of prisoners. He also killed all the male animals born first to their mothers among the livestock.

At midnight the Lord struck down all the firstborn in the land of Egypt, from the firstborn of Pharaoh who sat on his throne to the firstborn of the captive who was in the dungeon, and all the firstborn of the livestock.

我曾對你說，要讓我的兒子離開這裡，好叫他事奉我。你還是拒絕讓他離開，看哪！我必殺你的長子。’”

他在埃及擊殺了所有的長子，在含的帳棚中擊殺了他們強壯時生的頭胎子。

他把埃及頭生的，無論人或牲畜都擊殺了。

要稱謝那擊殺埃及所有頭生的，因為他的慈愛永遠長存。

他擊殺了他們境內所有的長子，就是他們強壯的時候所生的頭生子。

摩西說：“耶和華這樣說：‘大約半夜的時候，我要出去巡行埃及地。在埃及地所有頭生的都必死亡，就是從坐王位的法老的長子，直到推磨的婢女的長子，以及一切頭生的牲畜都必死亡。

因為以色列人中所有頭生的，連人帶畜都是我的；我在埃及地擊殺所有頭生的那一天，就把他們分別為聖歸我了。

那時，埃及人正在埋葬他們的長子，就是耶和華在他們中間擊殺的，耶和華也對他們的神施行審判。

因為在那一夜我要走遍埃及地，把埃及地所有頭生的，無論是人或是牲畜，都要殺掉；我也要審判埃及的一切神祇，我是耶和華。

他們在半夜之中剎那之間死亡，平民因遭受震動而去世，有權勢的被除滅非借人手。

那時法老心裡剛硬，不讓我們離開，耶和華就把埃及地所有頭生的，無論是人或是牲畜都殺了；所以，我把所有頭生的公牲口都獻給耶和華為祭；但我所有頭生的兒子，卻都要代贖回來。

因為所有頭生的，都是我的；我在埃及地擊殺所有頭生的那天，就把以色列中所有頭生的，無論人畜，都分別為聖歸我；他們要歸我，我是耶和華。”

錫安哪！至於你，因著我與你立約的血，我把你中間被囚禁的人從無水的坑裡釋放出來。

被擄的快得釋放了，他們必不會死，必不會下到陰間裡，他們的食物也必不會缺乏。

因著信，他立了逾越節和灑血的禮，免得那滅命的侵犯以色列人的長子。

因為你們自己清楚知道，主的日子來到，就像夜間的賊來到一樣。人正在說平安穩妥的時候，毀滅性的災禍就突然臨到他們，好像生產的痛苦臨到懷胎的婦人一樣，他們絕不能逃脫。

他們就拿住耶利米，把他丟在王子瑪基雅的井裡，那井是在衛兵的院子裡的；他們用繩子把耶利米縋下去。井裡沒有水，只有淤泥；耶利米就陷在淤泥中。

第二天，耶和華就行了這事，埃及人全部的牲畜都死了；可是屬於以色列人的牲畜，一隻也沒有死去。

他們必被聚集，像囚犯被聚集在牢獄裡一般；他們要被關在監牢中，多日以後，他們要被懲罰。

有名字登記在天上眾長子的教會，有審判眾人的神，有被成全的義人的靈魂，

於是他們用繩子把耶利米從井裡拉出來；這樣，耶利米可以住在衛兵的院子裡。
