Moses told Pharaoh,“ The Lord says,‘ About midnight I will go through every part of Egypt.

So Moses said,“ This is what the Lord says:‘ About midnight I will go throughout Egypt.

So Moses said,“ Thus says the Lord:‘ About midnight I will go out in the midst of Egypt,

Moses had announced to Pharaoh,“ This is what the Lord says: At midnight tonight I will pass through the heart of Egypt.

So Moses said,“ This is what the LORD says: About midnight I will go throughout Egypt,

Then Moses said,“ This is what the Lord says:‘ About midnight I am going out into the midst of Egypt,

Then Moses said,“ Thus says the Lord:‘ About midnight I will go out into the midst of Egypt;

And Moses said, Thus saith Jehovah, About midnight will I go out into the midst of Egypt:

So Moses said,“ This is what Yahweh says:‘ About midnight I will go throughout Egypt,

And Moses said, Thus saith the LORD, About midnight will I go out into the midst of Egypt:

Moses said,“ Thus says the LORD:‘ About midnight I will go throughout Egypt,

Moses said,“ This is what Yahweh says:‘ About midnight I will go out into the middle of Egypt,

At midnight the Lord struck down every oldest son in Egypt. He killed the oldest son of Pharaoh, who sat on the throne. He killed all the oldest sons of prisoners. He also killed all the male animals born first to their mothers among the livestock.

“ I sent plagues on you, just as I did on Egypt. I killed your young men by swords. I also let the horses you had captured be killed. I filled your noses with the stink of your camps. In spite of that, you still have not returned to me,” announces the Lord.

They die suddenly in the middle of the night. God strikes them down, and they pass away. Even people who are mighty are removed, but not by human hands.

I will open the way for you to return. I will march in front of you. You will break through the city gates and go free. I am your King. I will pass through the gates in front of you. I, the Lord, will lead the way.”

Workers will cry in all the vineyards. That’s because I will punish you,” says the Lord.

The Lord will go through the land to strike down the Egyptians. He’ll see the blood on the top and sides of the doorframe. He will pass over that house. He won’t let the destroying angel enter your homes to strike you down.

“ At midnight someone cried out,‘ Here’s the groom! Come out to meet him!’

Listen for the sound of marching in the tops of the trees. Then move quickly. The sound will mean that I have gone out in front of you. I will strike down the Philistine army.”

“ That same night I will pass through Egypt. I will strike down all those born first among the people and animals. And I will judge all the gods of Egypt. I am the Lord.

God, isn’t it you, even though you have now turned away from us? Isn’t it you, even though you don’t lead our armies into battle anymore?

The Lord will march out like a mighty warrior. He will stir up his anger like a soldier getting ready to fight. He will shout the battle cry. And he will win the battle over his enemies.
