耶和华使他的子民生养极多，使他们比敌人更强盛。

我们也知道，神使万事相辅相成，是为了爱神之人的益处，就是那些按照他的心意蒙召之人的益处。

这些人非常恼怒，因为使徒们教导民众，藉着耶稣传讲从死人中复活的事。于是他们下手捉拿了彼得和约翰。因为天已经晚了，就把他们关在监里，直到第二天。然而听了这话语的人中，有许多人相信了；男人的数目约有五千。

因为主所爱的人，主都管教；他所接纳的每一个儿子，他都鞭打。”对管教的事，你们要忍受；神对待你们，就像对待儿女那样。到底哪一个儿子不受父亲的管教呢？大家都有份受管教；你们如果没有受管教，那么，你们就是私生子，不是儿子了。再者，我们有肉身的父亲来管教我们，我们尚且敬重他们，何况对这位万灵之父，我们难道不更要服从他而活着吗？肉身的父亲在短暂的日子里，固然照着自己的意思来管教我们；但万灵之父是为了我们的益处管教我们，好使我们在他的圣洁上有份。不过所有的管教，当时虽然不觉得是愉快的事，反觉得是忧伤的事，而后来却为那些由此受到操练的人，结出平安和义行的果子。

说：“我们不是严厉地吩咐你们，不可奉这个人的名教导人吗？可是看哪，你们把你们的教导传遍了耶路撒冷，又想把这个人的血归到我们身上。”彼得和使徒们回答说：“我们必须顺从神过于顺从人。你们挂在木头上杀害的耶稣，我们祖先的神已经使他复活了。神把这一位高举在自己右边做元首、做救主，为了将悔改的心赐给以色列，使罪得赦免。我们就是这些事的见证人。神所赐给那些顺从他之人的圣灵也一同做见证。”议会的人听了，勃然大怒，就想要杀了他们。

于是法利赛人互相说：“可见你们真没用！看，这世界都跟随他去了。”

任何的智慧、聪慧和谋略，都无法在耶和华面前站立得住。

怒火虽凶残，怒气如洪流，但在嫉妒面前，谁能站立得住呢？
