暴怒固然殘酷，憤恨好比狂瀾，然而嫉妒更是無人能敵。

即使羊圈裡的看羊人也披金戴銀，就像鴿子鍍銀的翅膀和金光閃閃的羽毛。

所以，你要轉告以色列人說，『我是耶和華。我要伸出臂膀重重地懲罰埃及，救贖你們脫離埃及人的轄制，脫離他們的奴役。我要接納你們做我的子民，我要做你們的上帝。這樣，你們就知道我是你們的上帝耶和華，曾救你們脫離埃及人的轄制。

以色列人的工頭來見法老，向他哀求說：「你為什麼要這樣對待僕人們？

他們在異國他鄉流離飄零。

我們祖先到埃及寄居多年，我們世代受埃及人虐待。

埃及王說：「摩西、亞倫，你們竟敢煽動百姓曠工！快回去工作！」法老又說：「這地方的以色列人如此眾多，你竟叫他們停止工作！」當天，法老就對埃及監工和以色列人的工頭下令：

他還建造了所有的儲貨城、屯車城、養馬城和計劃在耶路撒冷、黎巴嫩及全國興建的城邑。
