在诏书中，王允许各个城市的犹太人，在亚哈随鲁王各省中，在十二月（亚达月）十三日，一天之内，聚集起来，保护自己的性命，除灭、击杀、消灭所有攻击犹太人的各族各省的武装力量，甚至他们的孩童和妇女，并且掠夺他们的财物。

耶和华在我这边，作我的帮助者，我就会看见那些恨我之人的下场。投靠耶和华，好过依靠人；投靠耶和华，好过依靠高贵的人。列国都围绕我；我靠耶和华的名必要割除他们！他们围绕我，是的，他们围绕我；我靠耶和华的名必要割除他们！他们像蜂群那样围绕我，却像荆棘火那样被熄灭；我靠耶和华的名必要割除他们！

至于王各省中的其余犹太人，他们也都聚集起来，保护自己的性命，摆脱他们的仇敌，击杀了七万五千个恨他们的人，但没有下手掠夺财物；

以斯帖就说：“如果王认为好，就请王允许苏萨的犹太人明天也照着今天的法令去做，并且把哈曼的十个儿子挂在木架上。”

你们行事为人不要爱钱财，要以现有的为满足，因为神自己说过：“我绝不撇下你，也绝不离弃你。”

犹太人在亚哈随鲁王各省的城市中聚集起来，为要下手对付那些图谋加害他们的人。没有人能在他们面前站立得住，因为各民族都惧怕他们。

连一切恶的样式都要远避。
