蓋我與我民、為人所陷、殺戮殞亡、即鬻我為奴婢、我亦無詞、惟有損於王、敵雖輸金、無所裨補。

For I and my people have been sold to be destroyed, killed and annihilated. If we had merely been sold as male and female slaves, I would have kept quiet, because no such distress would justify disturbing the king.”

For we have been sold, I and my people, to be destroyed, to be killed, and to be annihilated. If we had been sold merely as slaves, men and women, I would have been silent, for our affliction is not to be compared with the loss to the king.”

王若以為好，請下諭旨滅絕他們，我就捐一萬他連得銀子交給管財政的人，納入王的府庫。」

耶和華要用船把你送回埃及去，走那我曾告訴你不再看見的路；在那裏你們必賣身給你的仇敵作奴婢，卻沒有人要買。」

詔書由信差傳到王的各省，限令一日之內，就是在十二月，亞達月十三日，把所有的猶太人，無論老少婦女孩子，全然剪除，殺戮滅絕，並搶奪他們的財產。

王准各城各鎮的猶太人在一日之內，在十二月，就是亞達月的十三日聚集，在亞哈隨魯王的各省保護自己的性命，剪除，殺戮，滅絕那要攻擊猶太人的各省各族所有的軍隊，以及他們的妻子兒女，奪取他們的財產為掠物。

並將猶大人和耶路撒冷人賣給希臘人，使他們遠離自己的疆界。

我們為你的緣故終日被殺，人看我們如將宰的羊。主啊，求你睡醒，為何儘睡呢？求你醒來，不要永遠丟棄我們！

你可以住在我這裏，不要懼怕。因為尋索你命的也要尋索我的命，你在我這裏可得保護。」

猶大對他的兄弟們說：「我們殺我們的弟弟，遮掩他的血有甚麼好處呢？來，我們把他賣給以實瑪利人，不要下手害他，因為他是我們的弟弟，我們的骨肉。」他的兄弟們就聽從了他。那時，有些米甸的商人從那裏經過，就把約瑟從坑裏拉上來。他們以二十塊銀子把約瑟賣給以實瑪利人，他們就把約瑟帶到埃及去了。

以斯帖說：「仇人敵人就是這惡人哈曼！」哈曼在王和王后面前非常驚惶。

末底改把自己遭遇的一切，以及哈曼為滅絕猶太人答應捐入王庫的銀數都告訴了他；又把那傳遍書珊、要滅絕猶太人的諭旨抄本交給哈他革，要他給以斯帖看，並向她說明，囑咐她去晉見王，向王懇求，為本族的人在王面前請命。

耶和華如此說：「以色列三番四次犯罪，為銀子賣了義人，為一雙鞋賣了窮人，我必不撤銷對它的懲罰。

現在，我們的身體與我們弟兄的身體是一樣的，我們的兒女與他們的兒女沒有差別。看哪，我們卻要迫使兒女作人的奴婢。我們有些女兒已被搶走了，我們卻無能為力，因為我們的田地和葡萄園已經歸了別人。」

現在你們當受詛咒！你們中間必不斷有人作奴僕，為我上帝的殿作劈柴挑水的人。」
