For I and my people have been sold to be destroyed, killed and annihilated. If we had merely been sold as male and female slaves, I would have kept quiet, because no such distress would justify disturbing the king.”

王若是赞成，请王降旨消灭他们；我愿捐出三十四万公斤银子，交在管理国务的人手中，纳入王库。”

耶和华必用船把你送回埃及去，走我曾经告诉你，你不得再见的那条路；在那里你们必卖身给你的仇敌作奴仆和作婢女，却没有人买。”

王旨交给众驿使传到王的各省，吩咐要在一日之内，在十二月，就是亚达月十三日，把所有的犹大人，无论老少妇孺，都全部毁灭、杀绝、除尽，并且抢夺他们的财产。

文书上写着：王准许在各城的犹大人，可以聚集起来，保护自己的性命；也可以毁灭、杀尽和灭绝那些敌对犹大人的各族和各省的势力，包括妇孺，并且可以掠夺他们的财产；

你们把犹大人和耶路撒冷人卖给希腊人，使他们远离自己的境界。

为你的缘故，我们终日被置于死地；人看我们如同将宰的羊。主啊！求你醒来，为什么还睡着呢？求你起来，不要永远弃绝我们。

你可以住在我这里。不要惧怕，因为那寻索你命的，正在寻索我的命，你与我在一起就可保安全。”

犹大对他的众兄弟说：“我们杀了我们的兄弟，把他的血隐藏起来，究竟有什么益处呢？我们不如把他卖给以实玛利人，不要下手害他，因为他是我们的兄弟，我们的骨肉。”众兄弟就听从了他。有些米甸的商人经过那里，约瑟的哥哥们就把约瑟从枯井里拉上来，以二十块银子把他卖给以实玛利人。以实玛利人就把约瑟带到埃及去了。

以斯帖回答：“这敌人和仇人，就是这恶人哈曼！”哈曼在王和王后面前立刻惊惶万分。

末底改把他遭遇的一切事，以及哈曼为灭尽犹大人答应捐银给王库的数目，都告诉了他。末底改又把在书珊城颁布要毁灭犹大人的谕旨抄本，交给了哈他革，要他给以斯帖看，并且要给她说明，吩咐她进宫见王，向王求情，为自己的族人在王面前恳求。

“耶和华这样说：‘以色列三番四次犯罪，我必不收回惩罚他的命令；因为他为了银子卖义人，为了一双鞋卖穷人。

虽然我们的身体与我们同胞的身体一样，我们的儿女与他们的儿女也相同，可是我们却要强迫自己的儿女去作仆婢，而且我们的女儿有些已经作了奴婢，我们却无能为力，因为我们的田地和葡萄园已经属于别人了。”

现在你们要受到咒诅，你们中间必不断有人作奴仆，为我神的圣所作劈柴打水的人。”
