For I and my people have been sold to be destroyed, killed and annihilated. If we had merely been sold as male and female slaves, I would have kept quiet, because no such distress would justify disturbing the king.”

王若愿意，就请降旨消灭他们。我愿捐三百四十五吨银子交给管理国事的人，纳入王的库房。”

耶和华必沿着我曾说你们再不会走的路线，用船把你们送回埃及。你们将在那里卖身做敌人的仆婢，却无人买。”

谕旨由信差送到王的各省，限令在一天之内，即十二月，也就是亚达月十三日，把犹太人的男女老少全部铲除、杀光、灭尽，并夺取他们的财物。

谕旨上说，王准许各城的犹太人在十二月，即亚达月十三日，聚集起来自卫，铲除、杀光、灭尽各族各省攻击他们的仇敌及其儿女、妻子，夺取仇敌的财物。

并把犹大和耶路撒冷的居民卖给希腊人，使他们远离家乡。

为了你，我们终日出生入死，被视为待宰的羊。主啊，求你醒来，你为何沉睡？求你起来，不要永远丢弃我们。

你就放心留在我这里，不要害怕，谁想杀你，就是想杀我。你在我这里很安全。”

犹大对他的众弟兄说：“我们杀死弟弟、掩盖罪行有什么益处呢？不如把他卖给以实玛利人，不要下手害他，他毕竟是我们的弟弟，我们的骨肉啊！”其他弟兄都赞成他的意见。于是，那些米甸商人经过的时候，他们就把约瑟从井里拉上来，以二百二十克银子的价钱把他卖给了以实玛利人。这些商人把他带到埃及去了。

以斯帖回答说：“敌人和仇家就是这恶人哈曼！”哈曼在王和王后面前十分惊恐。

末底改便将自己的遭遇及哈曼为灭绝犹太人而捐入国库的银子数目都告诉了他。末底改还把一份在书珊城颁布的要消灭犹太人的谕旨抄本交给哈他革，让他给以斯帖看，并嘱咐她去见王，为自己的同胞向王求情。

耶和华说：“以色列人三番四次地犯罪，我必不收回对他们的惩罚，因为他们为了银子卖掉义人，为了一双鞋子卖掉穷人。

我们和他们是同胞，我们的孩子就像他们的孩子。但现在我们的儿女要被迫成为仆婢，甚至我们的女儿有些已经沦为奴婢。我们却无能为力，因为我们的田地和葡萄园已经归别人了。”

因此，你们是受咒诅的。你们要永远做奴仆，为我上帝的殿劈柴挑水。”
