Then Queen Esther answered,“ Your Majesty, I hope you will be pleased to let me live. That’s what I want. Please spare my people. That’s my appeal to you.

以斯帖回答说：“我若得到王的恩宠，王若愿意，就请王把我的性命和我本族人的性命赐给我——这是我所求的。

王后以斯帖回答，说：“我若是在你眼前蒙恩，王若是喜欢，我所要的，是要王把我的性命赐给我；我所求的，是求王把我的族人赐给我。

后以斯帖對曰、我若沾恩於王前、且王悅之、則請依我所求、賜我生命、依我所欲、保我民族、

對曰、如王悅施恩婢子、則俯聽我祈、宥我生命、救我民族。

后以斯帖曰、我若蒙恩於王前、王若樂允、我所欲王賜我者乃我之生命、我所求王賜我者乃我之民族、或作求王救我生命求王救我民族

Then Queen Esther answered,“ If I have found favor with you, Your Majesty, and if it pleases you, grant me my life— this is my petition. And spare my people— this is my request.

Then Queen Esther answered,“ If I have found favor in your sight, O king, and if it please the king, let my life be granted me for my wish, and my people for my request.

Queen Esther replied,“ If I have found favor with the king, and if it pleases the king to grant my request, I ask that my life and the lives of my people will be spared.

Queen Esther answered,“ If I have found favor with you, Your Majesty, and if the king is pleased, spare my life; this is my request. And spare my people; this is my desire.

Then Queen Esther replied,“ If I have found favor in your sight, O king, and if it pleases the king, let my life be given me as my request, and my people as my wish;

Then Queen Esther answered and said,“ If I have found favor in your sight, O king, and if it pleases the king, let my life be given me at my petition, and my people at my request.

Then Esther the queen answered and said, If I have found favor in thy sight, O king, and if it please the king, let my life be given me at my petition, and my people at my request:

Queen Esther answered,“ If I have obtained your approval, my king, and if the king is pleased, spare my life— this is my request; and spare my people— this is my desire.

Then Esther the queen answered and said, If I have found favour in thy sight, O king, and if it please the king, let my life be given me at my petition, and my people at my request:

Queen Esther replied,“ If I have met with your approval, O king, and if the king is so inclined, grant me my life as my request, and my people as my petition.

Then Esther the queen answered,“ If I have found favor in your sight, O king, and if it pleases the king, let my life be given me at my petition, and my people at my request.

Then tell them,‘ I was begging the king not to send me back to Jonathan’s house. I don’t want to die there.’ ”

Satan replied,“ A man will give everything he has to save himself. So Job is willing to give up the lives of his family to save his own life.

So the king sent a third captain with his 50 men. The captain went up to Elijah. He fell on his knees in front of him.“ Man of God,” he begged,“ please have respect for my life! Please have respect for the lives of these 50 men!

Mordecai also gave Hathak a copy of the order. It commanded people to wipe out the Jews. The order had been sent from Susa. Mordecai told Hathak to show the order to Esther. He wanted Hathak to explain it to her. Mordecai told him to tell her to go and beg the king for mercy. Mordecai wanted her to make an appeal to the king for her people.

I hope you will be pleased to give me what I want. And I hope you will be pleased to listen to my appeal. If you are, I’d like you and Haman to come tomorrow to the feast I’ll prepare for you. Then I’ll answer your question.”

The king got up. He was very angry. He left his wine and went out into the palace garden. But Haman realized that the king had already decided what he was going to do to him. So he stayed behind to beg Queen Esther for his life.

Pray for the peace of Jerusalem. Say,“ May those who love you be secure.May there be peace inside your walls. May your people be kept safe.”I’m concerned for my family and friends. So I say to Jerusalem,“ May you enjoy peace.”I’m concerned about the house of the Lord our God. So I pray that things will go well with Jerusalem.

His officials said to him,“ Look, we’ve heard that the kings of Israel often show mercy. So let’s go to the king of Israel. Let’s wear the rough clothing people wear when they’re sad. Let’s tie ropes around our heads. Perhaps Ahab will spare your life.”
