So in the month of April, during the twelfth year of King Xerxes’ reign, lots were cast in Haman’s presence( the lots were called purim) to determine the best day and month to take action. And the day selected was March 7, nearly a year later.

猶大人以刃擊其諸敵、誅之滅之、任意以待凡憾之者、

使為己立一例、每歲守亞達月十四日十五日為節期、

十二月、即亞達月十三日、猶大人之敵、欲遵王命行王之前詔、咸冀是日必勝猶大人、而反為猶大人所勝、或作十二月即亞達月十三日猶大人之敵原欲行王之前詔殺猶大人猶大人反得詔以殺敵

在位之三年、為諸牧伯及臣僕設宴、巴西瑪代之將帥、與各州之顯者及方伯、咸在其前、

亞哈隨魯王七年十月、即提別月、以斯帖選入王宮、

既釘之十字架、遂鬮分其衣、為應先知所言云、彼分我外服、鬮分我裏衣、有原文抄本無此三句

亞達薛西王二十年、尼散月、有酒在王前、有酒在王前或作值王有筵席我以酒奉王、前此我侍王前、未有憂色、此日有憂色
